    Hello,

I just picked up a VF500 for a project bike and noticed the coolant is kind of brown. It appears to be a blown head gasket. I can not find any parts online. Does anyone know where i can order? I would like to order a Gasket kit. Or Should I just buy a new engine at this age?

    thanks,
    Joshua

Yeah, I know lol. Anyhow I don’t think the heads are bad. The coolant just might be old? I got the bike to run. Found a bad fuel pump relay (jumpered it out) also found the peacock valve was plugged. She ran good. No smoke! I’m gong to change the coolant and see if it starts to change colors. There is no record of when the coolant was changed last. Here is a picture what do you think?

So maybe i was wrong and you will get it on the road !? :Clap2:

Flush oil and old coolant and fuel from the tank, refilling with fresh stuff. plan to pull the carbs for cleaning, and plan to buy new tires. ;)

Finding parts is all but impossible by now.
