I am the original owner of an '86 VfR700F. I recently went through the carbs as the bike was not making the power it should. No pull at 3k RPM or anywhere. On pulling the airbox I discovering a mouse house in the airbox. As the carbs had never been touched I continued with the rebuild. The carbs actually looked remarkably clean. I checked the diaphragms thoroughly and didn't spot any holes. The bike is now back together and the carbs synched. It makes no power. My '82 550 Vision will run away from it. The only things I can think of are a diaphragm not rising or a plugged exhaust. Any other opinions before I dismember it again?

I don't know if you have access to an infrared heat gun but my first step would be to check the heat on the individual header pipes.

A proper carb clean more than likely was not accomplished. All jets and pilot screws have to come out and passages blown at the bare minimum. It's 99% not your diaphrams.
