So, it's finally riding season up here in Canuckistan!

Latest it's ever been here. I've been out riding a few times already now, but it's time to put new shoes on the bike and finally get the rims powder coated.

You can see my fancy setup in the photo below. I'll post photos as the rims come in. I ordered Bridgestone T30 EVO's again, but to my pleasant surprise, they send the brand new T31 EVOs instead!!

In addition, I need to do my fork oil as well - but I'm kinda holding out as I'm strongly considering some DMr suspension all the way around.

I also have 2 other projects - I still need to get on my 85 VF1000F, and a cute little Kat followed my partner and I home as well. I need to do the fork seals on that bad boy and replace the speedo cable for safety. I'll do the usual mundane maintenance on it as well - Lisa will be learning about her bike and getting real intimate with it over the following months. :)

... also building a nice 10x12 shed with 8ft ceiling so I can work on the motos inside and put them on my lift, as well as adding an addition to the house (an extra bedroom - it's tough when we have 6 kids between us lol).

Stay tuned for more ... rims should be ready from powder coat after the weekend, and new wheel bearings installed - then it's time to install the new shoes.

Right?! ... the rims are getting powder coated a metallic gold. Similar to the plastidip colour that was on there originally for a test.

Yeah, they sure are ... air fins on the heads and oil cooled. It's a reliable engine - won't set the world on fire with any speed records, but that's why we chose this bike for her first. It's a tame motor but has a lot of get up and go when she needs it on the highway.

Rims are ready to be picked up from powder coat ... can't wait to see them in person. Photos never do these powder coat jobs justice.

I think tonight is the night .... I installed the new 90* CNC valve stems, tires (balance beads on the rear) ... just need to balance the front wheel then it can all go back on the bike and I'll be riding again.

I'll post more photos once it's done.

Ok ... here's the new tires and powder coated rims mounted.

I replaced the air filter while I was in there. Dropped a damn screw down into the engine, tore the bike half apart looking for it and still didn't find it. I just left it since there's no way for it to work it's way into the engine internally and replaced it with another. Still pisses me off to no end.

I still need to do an oil / filter change, some chain maintenance, and it looks like a full brake job (pads and my annual fluid change) are in my sights now too. At least I can ride now.

It's so hard to capture the metallic flake in a photo. Anyone have any tips for that?

    Enjoy ....

... and finally, all washed and shined up ...
