So my rear tire lasted all of 1271 miles, but were it not delaminating, it would have lasted longer, were it not for track days, it really would have lasted longer!. I was at the wear bars on the right edge of the tire, a little more on the left. Lots in the middle. My front tire still looks good. Surprisingly, considering it has a total of three trackdays on it. Works for me, saves me money!!

Hey Lint, over here they are already selling the new Q3+.
Advertisment states that they have more grip, with 20% more life compared to the old Q3.

    Hi Oz,
Those are the tires I have. I like them a lot. Although I have never used the Q3, so I have no point of reference to compare the life to the Q3+, so I cannot say if they last longer, grip better, etc. I do know they allowed me to ride at basically 10/10ths, to use reaching vernacular when was at the track. They basically allowed me to find the limits of the bike and me. So while I can't compare them to any other sport tire because I have used sport touring tires for so long, I could shift into third gear still leaned over in a corner exit on the track at full throttle and the tire would simply dig in and catapult me out. Breaking hard is absurd. The front feels like it sinks spikes into the asphalt.

    They are great tires.

I spoke with Dave at Dunlop today. He asked a couple of questions regarding mileage and the DOT code on the tire. He offered to send out a new tire to me and then after receipt, he would have the damaged tire picked up. Since my tire people replaced it, he is sending them a new tire and then paying to ship the tire back. They really take care of their customers. Neither he nor his engineers have seen this type of a failure before, so they will be going over the tire and finding out the cause. In spite of this happening, I am very happy with Dunlop and very happy with the Q3+! Now, it is time to go use my new rubber...

    Nice and clean
So while my bike was camping out at Lint’s for 5 months, had this little bugger take over my headlight to make his home.
Looks like he’s tits up now

Started to resurrect the bike from from its forlorn state after its low speed spill a couple of weeks ago. New headlight, inner fairing trim, fairing stay, windshield, and clutch lever replaced. The mirrors are a royal pain in the arse to reassemble, but perseverance paid off. All installed , all electrical connections sorted and ops check good. Just got to wait for one more fairing part, then the fairing will be installed, and she'll be looking as good as new ready to ride.

As for me, that'll take a little longer. Trying to pick the bike up after the spill, amped up on adrenaline resulted in my tearing the tendon off the bone on my left arm. Surgery on Wednesday, 12 weeks to recover=no Summer riding for me-fuck it!

Damn that sucks. Hope you heal quickly. I know it is easy to say now and the adrenaline at the time, but there is a video on You tube on how to lift up a bike. In fact the video features a later in life woman picking up her bike with a good technique. I hope I remember if ever needed. But again being pissed off and wanting to get the bike up I may never do so.

Well, the ride and all, including a hop around on the RSV4 was very enlightening to say the least. That Tuono factory is a great bike. If you where to close your eyes you'd be surprised at just how familiar the seating felt other than the Tiller bars being are wider, it's spot on VFRish, what a machine.
I can see one parked in the garage, but me being a penny pincher has me asking, is it worth it to move away from the VFR, for what cost? and in that is a easy No. Being this version of the Tuono is a factory model at $17k. By today's standards it's not bad price wise for what you get.
Me, I have a great VFR love it, it's just lacking some updated goods here and there to be in the same class, which it really can't be since I'm comparing a 1200 with 175hp that weighs a mire 450lbs, that ain't happening to the VFR. The Tuono, with it's brakes , suspension, the chassis set up, then of coarse the engine, is so for me, it does just about everything the Viffer does well and more, just is. But I'd need to find a way to have both, there is just something about the VFR that's just cool no matter what. With that I spoke with the head chez there asking what comes of the Demos. He said they'd let them go at the end of the season. My reply was, here's my contact info, we 'll be in touch, thinking maybe it can be had for a lot less. So we will see, but Ooo baby what a machine. There is one other note here to add, the VFR, especially mine has a exhaust note like no other. so in that the Tuono losses, but what the Tuono losses, it makes it up with an intake growl that's insanely Orgasmic. Well, not today but yesterday, I spent time in the garage to finally getting my cat-less headers on my 6 Gen. Had a set of 98-99 headers that I had ceramic coated ready to put on, just kept putting it off, well, until yesterday. Although it doesn't look the greatest, even found a solution for the center stand stop, as the cat-less headers do have a stop like the catted headers do and the 5 Gen can has the stop for that generation.https://farm1.staticflickr.com/959/28368291738_74c5c5424c_k.jpg
