is its an 01 or 02?

So my Rego says 01 but the body style is 02.

so which is it?

Fairings, frame and engine are both different. It's possible it was made late in 2001 as a 2002 model, but that very much guessing on my part.

 

Plus all 6G have undertail exhaust.

All these responses and yet no one has actually answered the question...’01 or ‘02? If the VIN plate shows a date of manufacture as xx/01, it technically was made then but general VFR wisdom says it’s an ‘02. That’s my final answer.

 

'02 model year vfr 800, assembled in '01. I'd get the registration and title fixt.

 

Certainly a 6th gen so 2002. Was made in 2001 but not officially on sale till the launch in 2002. Id say yours was imported at a later date , registered and issued on an age related plate . They literally issued a plate date of manufacture 2001. But we all know 6th gens are 2002-2013

 

when it runs does it make wonderful, exciting, sexy sounding gear-driven camshaft noise? Yes = 5th Gen, No = 6th Gen.

thanks everyone, it is New Zealand so I know from the past things like this seem to happen a lot, by that I mean imported items sometimes dont match what the description is lol
