IceCode - Whilst I admire brevity, I think it would help us a lot, if you can add any pertinent detail when responding.

You say in Post #7 "Well now when i test the spark i am getting zero spark from any coil."

So how exactly did you test the spark? Did you do what I suggested - IE remove just the easiest to get at spark plug and whilst still connected to its coil pack place it on top of the engine and very briefly try the start button? Did you see no sparks and did you have any smell of fuel? These are critical to deciding what to do next!

Did you try some other testing process - if so what?

You mention other electrical concerns about the wiring but IF the bike was running OK in the past then those concerns may be completely irrelevant. So before spending any time messing with (or disturbing the loom which may make things worse to resolve) why not just sort out if we are dealing with a lack of fuel or a lack of sparks or BOTH?

As I said in post 2... I don't believe you are getting fuel. If you cannot smell fuel from the exhaust pipe after cranking & it NOT STARTING with the choke on then that's where I'd look at. The plugs should be dripping. Stuff worrying about the spark - you also need fuel. If you can't smell it then you don't have it.

Sorry for the confusion. At the beginning I was getting spark (Cylinder #2 was blue, all other cylinders were orange) Tested with both plug connected to coil and observed spark jumping gap and with tester connected to end of coil wire instead of of the plug. During all of this the battery is connected to charger to prevent drop in power. But later in testing I now have no spark on any cylinder, battery fully charged.

Fuel delivery may be an issue (carbs, even though they were cleaned, maybe not cleaned well enough) but also tested with starter fluid which I would think would bypass the fuel issue if there is one.

But the problem is that if no spark, other than when i tested at the beginning then that could be an issue. Or at least one of the issues now.

The variables seem to be changing, so i am starting over and going step by step. I decided to just order new coils and wires, cdi, plugs. As any of those things are good to have spares of anyway.

Going to first attempt, this time around, to get a stable base line. Going to get spark consistent and then move on from there.

Thank you everyone for your help. I need to do more due diligence so that i can better ask a more concise educated question. Will try to first eliminate some changing variables. I believe i may be looking at several issues - spark and fuel related - primarily on the electrical side.

And I really appreciate the offer. Just don't like wasting other people's time and want to get this thing on the road asap. Also like having spare parts for older bikes - you never know when those easily obtainable parts disappear from ebay and craigslist. And as far as "having the cash..." I certainly don't have that now, in the middle of a divorce and lost house (aka my garages) so working on my bikes in a shed at the moment lol. But I did get out with my clothes and all of my cycle parts :)

If you have spark and fuel, I know the air box has to be sealed, no tears in the boots etc. if it’s sucking air it probably won’t run? Those CV carbs are a PITA!

Not at all, very easy to fix IF you have knowledge and experience and a set of proper tools including JIS screwdrivers! ;)

There not hard to work on as that goes, but tricky to put on and no air box leaks. Only done it once, hope I never have to do it again! Lol!
