The T30 EVO and the T31 are known to be good tires especially for what you intend to do with them. I have not run them personally but ride with a few people who do and they all seem to like them. Hopefully someone who has first hand experience will chime in and give their opinion on them.

I've been running T30 Evos on my VTR1000, they took a little running in but are now excellent reliable tyres with good feel and reasonably quick turn-in. They are a firmer riding tyre than my favourite, the Metzeler Roadtec 01, and a bit sportier feeling due to a stiffer carcass and steeper profile. They seem to be wearing well and evenly and I wouldn't hesitate to use another set (more likely the upgraded T31).

I rode T30 EVO on my 5th gen and I rode the bleep out of them. Hard canyon riding, rain, hot, cold. Highway to alleyway, they performed very well. Side to side, even on the front tire, no slips. Hard throttle leaned over, they grabbed. Maybe not at the same level as the Dunlop Q3+ in outright grip, but I promise, they will deliver everything you will ask of them based on your posting above, while giving you great mileage year around. Riding them as hard as I did, I would get 7600 miles out of the rear and about 10k out of the front. This included full throttle acceleration and very hard braking and trail braking. And, the T31 is supposed to have greater dry and especially when traction.

Ron Haslem racing school in the UK used the T30 Evo on their track bikes, for their grip and longevity. An excellent choice, especially since they represent a substantial discount in cost over Michelin, etc.

I have Metzeler Roadtec 01's front and rear, and because law demands it, the HWM-version on the rear.

Wonderful tire, I got'em for a few months now, since June, maybe 3000-4000 kilometers.

They feel really planted yet agile enough when I need'em to be.
The biggest reasons for the Roadtec 01 were the durability and safety during rain and on wet roads.

So far the tire shows no big wear and just accepts my mainly commuting-behaviour which means riding in a straight line.
And concerning the grip on wet roads: I can fully vouch for that.
Recently took a someone with me during wet weather. Excellent grip and stability in wet weather, even 2 up.

Sounds like you're not pushing super hard, so I'd do Pilot Roads for the good mileage. Avoid Pirelli Angels imo, as the steel belt makes patching them really dicey.

Thank you for sharing , just yesterday picked up my Bridgestone EVO30 for major Honda only dealership. Very solid, looks biffy and strong, production year 2017 and price for a pair under $200 OTD included all California taxes., installation price is 85 US$ each axel, same as tire price ,really crazy, but will share with you after 500 miles of ride in them.

On that, when looking to buy the '01s for my VFR800 the Metzeler sites seemed to alternate between the standard and HWM so I sent emails or Facebook queries to Metzeler US, Australia and UK.....Feedback from US was HWM but "standard" was recommended by the UK and Australia....

As said by others, $85! Next time you’re ready for new tires let me know, I’ll have you order them online and drop ship them to my place and when they arrive, I’ll have you come on down and I’ll install and balance them for you. Cost you lunch and some much needed IPA for the task. Seriously!

This may be due to weight on each axle - ✌️

I am currently running T30s on the front and T31 on the rear. Typically the rear gets replaced twice for every front, so when the front tyre needs replacing it will be with a T31. Even so both tyres are a good choice for touring riders and will do serious mileages as long as you maintain the tyre pressures.

They behave very well on paved and unpaved surfaces, and track confidently during heavy rain and even cutting through light snow during a recent trip back to the UK.

Obviously if track days are on the agenda, then proper track day sticky tyres are the way to go but they will need replacement far more frequently.

I'm riding the Michelin Road 5 and I'm rather happy with those. Very different from the Michelin Pilot Road 4. THe new one is much more adequate for the VFR in my opinion.

Unless I’m traveling or some reason not available, the offer stands. Goes for any other member willing to ride over. I’ve had a couple of friends ride over with the tires strapped to their bike. Not the most comfortable riding situation but none the less, that’s how they got the tires to me. Ask Scubalong, he’s been here more times than I have bikes!

I agree. In the past I ran a Pilot Power 3 front with a Pilot Road 4 rear as I preferred the sportier front tire, this time it’s the Road 5 front and rear, so far I’m liking the Road 5 set a lot.
