Here what is? I hope that the fact that I can't see your photo is not a result of the site change to https that took effect today!

Well, I was really hoping it was white! But it looks good anyway. The red with white wheels always pleases me too. My red 5 Gen has them as well. Congratulations on your new to you bike!

    Thanks!

I think I have only once seen one in white. The 90-93 are all red or black here, one was painted copper/goldish.

Actually I was looking for a mid-cheap priced 94-97 in black or violet, but this one was from someone I know, well looked after, good value for the money.

    Only real issues are
    -worn ignition switch
    -slightly loose/sloppy gear lever
    -fairings are not mint
    -seat cover/cowling is molested, why??
-seat cover screw mounts have cracked
    And
    -worn rear tire

Other than that she revs happily and is a joy to ride.. If only I had time to ride :/

So does your 800, nice writeup and a heck of a "tune-in" just for starters :)

I've got a long list on to-do's waiting for the unobtainium called "time" and I'm guessing it won't be free either :)

Just had a great morning of riding. About 48f/9c some rain, some dry twisties. Absolutely great last rides for the year.

I wish I had a lot more time at hand, but I was forced to do some of the new bike/pre-storage items on it also.

Flushed out old oil, put in new oil and filter.

Installed a new, paper air filter. The k&n reusable looked like some of the filter media was just not there anymore

Flushed fuel tank and ran some injector cleaner through the carbs. Was going to swap fuel filter, but didn't have the correct spare.

Had brake and clutch fluid swap on the list but ran out of time.

Need to do those, replace front fork oil and seals. Look at improving the rear shock and swap new tires before the next season rolls in.

Also kinda not sure if I'm supposed to emptyand oil the tank, or is full tank with fuel stabiliser okay for the winter (5-6 months)?

A bad case of "job gets in the way of my hobbies" ;)

    Ride safe, and enjoy![IMG]

Empty the carbs, fill the tank to the brim after Adding stabiliser, put on stands, remove battery, also push brake pads back in the calipers

^^^^ it's especially important to empty carbs. pull out the fuel pump fuse or disconnect it, then run the bike until carbs run low on fuel and engine dies, then put choke on full and run for another few seconds, then drain carbs.

Thanks for the advice. I'll leave the tank full and carbs empty. If my attempt at "easily" fixing the carbs works. That is, one tank of premium fuel mixed with fuel system cleanup liquid. If it doesn't remove the hesitation at 6-7krpm, I might as well do a full carb cleanup in the winter. I'm assuming that the last 3-4 winters the bike has stood with bare old gas sitting in it, maybe in the best case, with stabilized fuel..

Although, apparently modern fuel perservatives are quite good. A friend of mine has had lots of experience with starting up, and not starting motors, after standing for a winter. Or a summer. He swears by fuel stabilizers.

I was just about to hit the road for some maybe last miles for the season, as it started pouring like there's no end to it.. Well, on the bright side, I got the bike "washed" for free.

Got a fresh nanotech or something, coating on it. So it actually almost washes itself in the rain.

Stay safe and keep logging 'em (s)miles![IMG]

Flickr pics work perfectly well as long as you use the correct link -

Goto Share photo. BBCODE - (change size to max 1600ish) & copy & paste the link above the size.

try it out - we like pictures of motorbikes... lol
