Great stuff. That Benelli 750 sei in red, I had one in green. Wish now I hadn't sold her. A friend running a shop convinced me to put Yosh pistons/connecting rods in her. When he opened her up he said the casting was almost exactly that of a Honda 500, mod'd for the additional cylinders. And if I'm not mistaken, there's an early model Moto Guzzi LeMans in there. I lusted after those (I had an 850-T3) back then (along with that era Ducati 900SS in silver/blue). Wow, the years sure have passed ... :D.

LOL! I love it, “And worst of all, The Rolling Stones kept on going...”

My dad’s friend had an early 70’s era CB750 that I got to ride when I was about 16, didn’t take it too fast or far but recall the bike just having loads of power, at least for a 16 year old kid! My dad and I shared a CB650 that was an early 80’s model, great bike too but was eventually replaced by an 84 V45 Magna, thus eventually leading me to the VFR.

I recall a couple of my dad’s friends and a few family members having some of the Honda’s and Kawasaki’s featured, the neighbor across the street was a Gold Wing fanatic, just about every year or two, he’d trade in his current one for a new one. Got to see the progression of the GW almost in real time.

Some good nostalgia in this video. Thanks for posting it Lee.

We moved to Toronto in the early 70's with my old Norton Atlas. My wife decided we need a new Norton Commando in 72, but it was a disappointment. Hard to start, seat had about 1/4" padding for the first 6" which made riding 2 up painful. I traded it back in on a Kaw 900 Z1 (orange and brown). Great bike, fast, but economic conditions forced me to sell it. Nice to see it again in action. Then in '83 I bought the VF750, which I have had ever since.

My brother had two Commandos. I don't know the year of the first one but he screwed it up with a Dunstal kit and headers, extended forks and fancy paint. It got stolen and recovered and never did run right after that so he got rid of that one and bought a brand new, first year on the market 850 Commando. I thought it was a nice bike. He listed that for sale as he and his wife were moving back to the USA and that bike was stolen from the street out front of his appartment. No fire and theft insuracne. Never was recovered.
