Cleaned and oiled the chain, washed and polished, then Carnuba wax. Treated all the plastics with synthetic X wax (Maguires). Have a few stone chips low down on the fairing but apart from that she still looks pretty good. Just over 21,000 Km on the clock.

Didn't do much other than take the Viffer out for a fall ride around. Damn I like this bike.

Wonderful day, NOT! Have my 91 VFR750 ready to go...spent an hour at the insurance company(Long story) and another couple hours at DMV. Get home and can't find tag bolts -oh never mind. Cool but not too bad so finally get ready...are you ready..... THE BLOODY KEY WON'T WORK! The seat key is fine and although the Ign. key has been sticky a little wiggle and it worked. At least 10 min. and it won't turn.

Anyway, so far I've done NOTHING with my new VFR. (I'll start a key thread)

    Regards,

    Jack

I like the look of those silver wheels. Mine need to be refinished at some point; maybe I'll lighten them up.

Have a few hours in the evening to set mine in hibernation for the winter :(

But if I get some time, while waiting for the asphalt to dry up again. I'll clean everything up and do the rectfier + wiring, and some little stuff on top of that.

Cool, in more ways than one, yet listening to the purr of this magical engine warms one soul.. Just a nice cool 40 something ride around the area. not too exciting, surprising the roads are still in decent shape considering what's falling off the trees. It was very enjoyable. This just back in after a nice outing on a brisk day. Not many left I'm afraid. So best get em in while one can. DSC02591.JPG .

Well, there is the option of riding it in the winter also

I would most likely do so, if I was not stuck at work 24/7.

Mine looks almost excacly the same as this old brochure beauty :)[IMG][IMG]

Sold it just over a year ago. Thought about it fondly.
All that left my mind when I threw my leg over the Monster and fired it up.

I would be very hesitant to even ride that beauty. Perfect example.

Unfortunately the picture lies a lot. The seat is black, with broken front tabs, so it doesn't quite hug the tank.

Right middle fairing has lost all upper tabs and is held on by zip ties.

Front section of the fairings has been fixed with alu-bars, etc..

The solo cover has the gray "leather" instead. Most of the tabs are broken, so it barely stays on. Also, some asshat figured out that it was a good idea to cut holes for the handles, in the solo cover.. looks just silly with both on, and the cutouts are poorly made too..

Rear lights and front blinkers rattle like crazy.. Soo, it looks good from far away :)

Today? Finally got my right foot back in my boot and went for my first ride in 3 1/2 months. Memo to self: Don't drop this bike on your foot again! Too bad I missed half of a riding season here, but maybe I'll be more careful to make sure it's in neutral when I let out the clutch in a parking lot.

Fantastic that you recovered and got on the bike again!

A good reminder to all of us. Perfecting even the most basic skills, is critical for long term survival, on two wheels.

    Ride safe!
