The way dual compound tires have advanced in technology in the last 10 years, it might be hard to find a bad tire.

I have Angels on both bikes, punctures plugged without a problem...and the 90 degree stems rock :)

No worries. Unfortunately I have a busy work/personal schedule for most of September but I'm sure that 2-3000 miles will come faster than we think.

Curious, what do you prefer about the Road 5 over the Road 4 or 3 ?

The road 5 belongs to the newer generation of tires with the Roadsmart 3 or the Contiroadattack 3. The structure of the tire is both lighter and much more rigid . You literally feel a different bike . This is specially true at low speed where cornering is made more relaxed.
In my opinion those very recent tires are a strong step forward with respect to the previous gen. Maybe not a revolution, but a strong and sensible evolution.

I'll add to this, the Road 5 feels very similar to the Pilot RS which I run on the 5 Gen. With previous Pilot Road generations that I have used on my 6 Gen (Road 2 & Road 4) I always had reservations with the front tire, due to the Pilot Road 2 I had used once, so I would pair the Road 2 or 4 with a Pilot Power 3 front. Surprisingly, the PP3 lasted just as long as the Road 4 (10k+ miles) but in all fairness, I really didn't push the bike too much (mostly commuter riding).

However, when I did take it for more sporting outings, the PP3 front gave me a lot of confidence. In all honesty, I was not sure if I wanted to pair an RS front with the new Road 5, so I took a chance with going with the Road 5 front. One of the first real test I took with them was actually doing some track time. Although I didn't push the bike like I would with my 5 Gen, I did ask more of the tires than I ever would have on public roads and felt the Road 5 set was up to the task of how I would be using them on a day to day basis.

I am currently at 7.8k miles with them and they still feel good. We typically don't see a lot of rain here in So Cal, so I cannot say how well they will do now that I have some miles on them but I did also get a little wet weather riding on my way home from the track and that time, they felt good there as well. Technically, we are getting into winter, for whatever that means to So Cal, but I'm curious to see if Michelins new siping technology will work, if it does rain and I need to ride somewhere.

Further to the T31 Evo's. They work well enough for anything all the way to the edge, and are very grippy once warm. I do find on cold tyres & cold wet roads (30-40f) they are a little nervous but once the heat is in them they are fine. Wet they work excellently..

Hope you don’t mind me jumping on the thread, around my tire search. I’m on a fifth gen and plan to fender eliminate, and BADLY want raised white letters. I can’t find any shopping but see them in cafe/bobber sites - just feels like there should be something there! Thanks for any direction/help.
