I love my 3rd Gen, but after watching Wildbad Tours running those VFR's, I wanted to tour some more.

My 3rd Gen is in excellent, well maintained condition, 37K miles. But the 7th and 8th Gen's inspired me.

I considered the 7th Gen, but so different. I considered trying to find a 5th Gen, but...

I engulfed myself in reading up on the 8th Gen, trying to understand what Honda was thinking?

I could not find any flaws? I loved the styling, I love the tech, I love the safety and reliability it will provide me while I tour. I love the new dash, the better fuel economy. I can't wait to mod it up. Oh and it doesn't hurt that the Honda factory is blowing out 8th Gen DLX for $5999.00. How could I say no? I couldn't! I didn't!

    I said YES! YES! YES!

I should check to see if there is a factory blow out deal available in Canada. That's a screaming price compared to what I paid for my 06 brand new back in 06. Even considering the exchange rate between CDN and USD.

Way to go. Now if I can sell mine for $5,000 and then get a deluxe for another $1,000. I would be in! ;-)

Wow that is a great find. This side of the pond you will pay nearly double that for an 8th Gen!

    Have fun and ride safe.

+1 at that price plus shipping to Liverpool it would be loads cheaper than UK bikes even with 20% VAT added

What was the "out the door price"? Tax, title, docs fees, and other bullshit. Nobody sells vehicles at what's on the price tag. It is shameful for Honda not to offer something to replace the VFR if they aren't going to offer it any longer. Shame on Honda. They're too big to care, simply put. They can afford to lose all of us and it won't affect them. Best way to get rid of a VFR is to total it. Insurance payouts are higher than what one can be sold for. Ask me how I know.

I agree with you that there's no truth in pricing when you're buying a bike. However even with the fees it's still a great deal.

I've never seen a group of riders that either love or hate VFR's then post that on forums but they're all obsessive about pricing and getting a "great deal". Honda and the dealer need to make a profit and I don't begrudge them for that. Look at what people pay for other bikes and don't gripe about it. There's another brand of motorcycle where the forum members don't gripe about anything but actually enjoy their motorcycles. In hindsight, I would have gotten another one of them. A VFR is what it is. Like it or get rid of it for christ's sakes.

    Enter the stalking troll now.......

I can't say you are not correct. I like the idea of supporting brick and mortar businesses. BUT! It is my money I am spending. Not the dealerships. I choose to keep as much of it in my bank accounts rather than to put it into someone else's. They may have families and mortgages to consider, but so do I.

I owe it to myself, and my family to make the absolute best of it and pay as little as possible for things I buy. There are some things that I do pay a little more for by going brick and mortar, such as a tire I just ordered. But to just pay the asking price and not challenge the business world, they will just set the prices to what they want and continue to raise those prices. If we the consumer, do not challenge them on the prices, then the prices will without a doubt in my mind, be way over inflated. That tire? They quoted me a price far above what I could have gotten it on line. And I told them so. They dropped that price at the snap of a finger by over 25%. 25% on a Michelin RP4 GT is a fair chunk of coin to discount. You think maybe that is where the price should have been in the first place.? I am sure they are still making a profit from that sale.
