Looks nice to me as well - no experience with it though.

I went with the Saddlemen kit on my 6th gen VFR800 and am happy with it.

Whilst I have not ridden one, Top Sellerie (who are based in Paris) had a display at the Roche Sur Foron - Moto Expo last month where I took the opportunity to check out their display saddles. The look and quality was impeccable, but to be honest it did not feel very comfortable probably because it was brand new. I think that like any leather seat, it would soften over time and also mould itself to the rider, so a snapshot first impression opinion is probably unfair. I also have no idea what of the various base layer choices they had on offer, was actually below the surface of the seat I tried. I would assume the choice of base foam/gel material is more important to comfort than the material/pretty finish of the seat cover.

Whilst I don't want to dissuade a potential sale for a firm in France, personally I would not choose them simply because at the same Expo there was another saddlery firm exhibiting replacement seat covers offering better value with a similar choice of designs and base material. (Sellerie Briant) who are based locally in Champery in the Haute Savoie, were offering a while U wait - ride in ride out deal to turn your stock seat into a fabulous custom made seat at very reasonable prices. So no need to mess with postage or loose the use of your bike for a week whilst the seat is being re-worked, and the roads around Champery make a great excuse for a day trip.

The nub of this is, the skills to rework a saddle are available around the world, and especially in countries like USA where there are still plenty of firms making saddles for horse riders. I would be astonished if you could not find a decent saddle making firm a whole lot nearer to you, who could produce something every bit as good.

If you like the look of the seat in that photo - then why not take it and your VFR along to a local saddle-maker - explain that you want "more comfort for the pillion rider to stop them sliding forward", and see if they can modify the stock seat for a better price than having to pay to ship a seat across the Atlantic.

    Take care

I've also went with the saddleman kit, with the stock seat my nuts would always hit the tank (with any kind of braking )but with the saddleman not anymore. I'm not going to lie the seat was hard as a rock when I first installed it but after a few hundred miles it soften up

I didn't think it was hard? Mind you ... I put metric shit ton of miles on my bike in a hurry, so maybe I just broke it in super fast?

    I'M with you
I rode a Russell Day Long seat for 2 long days, and stepped off like it was just 1 hr.
I rode my friends bike, had to take the scenic route, from Durango Co to south Louisiana with the Russell on it.

I have Top Sellerie seat, delivered from france. Great comfort, with both gel, rider and pillion. But, I will decide to get back on OEM cause it is more flex for pure sport ride. Probably will sell Top Sellerie
