    Hey forum
So I'm on a strange but fortunate position where I have am choosing between a 98 vfr (FiW) and a 2000 vfr(FiY) both red. Is there any reason to go with a 2000 model over the 98, all else being equal? What would you choose, or does it not matter?

    I'm in Australia btw

I think the 2000 has the wax unit auto choke thing, the 98 has a bar mounted lever. The 2000 has more restrictive headers with cats and o2 sensors the 98 doesnt and the 2000 possibly has the honda hiss system anti theft doo-dah. Think thats it, id go with the simplest 98

My votes for the '98 as well
No cat's, a little better performance.
    Enjoy!

Although I have a 2001, I too would choose the 98 if given those two choices.

ditto. If they do it the same down under with the cat, then go with the cat-less.

If this is a trick question, then my answer would be "the one that is running"... :D

I have a '98 and a 2K. I'd go with the '98. No Cats! While we're at it... has anyone had any experience with a Power Commander 5 on a 5th Gen? I cannot get my 98 to run right w/ the PC5 even with a Zero Map. Misfires terrible while accelerating normally... almost unrideable at low/midrange. DynoJet has no answers...

I believe even though Dynojet recommends the PCV, no one has been able to get it running on a 5G
My 5G is the best I think. IMG_4617.JPG

I'd say the 98. I had a 99 and it lived for the track, or around town, or cross country...

Bragging track pic of my back tire at Streets of Willow in California...
