I just got a new 2014 Interceptor. I've noticed that as you let the clutch out, the engine RPM increases a few hundred, that's fine, my Yamaha R3 does that as well. However, it happens very early in the release of the clutch. So early, that I found two finger clutching to be impossible with any of the 5 settings on the clutch lever. If I am using only two fingers, and I pull the clutch in, the RPMs will drop, however, they will be at the raised "extra 250 RPM so you don't stall" RPMs. This makes two finger clutching pretty much impossible, as I cannot attain proper idle while pulling in the clutch.

Any of you guys found this to be the same, or is my bike borked?

I’ve read this twice and have no idea what you are referring to, which could explain why you’ve had no replies. I’m totally forked!

I've read about this "feature" and can't imagine who thought that up. However I believe I've read
that it's activated with the sidestand switch, so you might try fiddling with that. Personally I'd disable
it if it didn't throw codes.

I reread this and it isn't really too clear. By sidestand switch I meant the clutch lever sidestand switch,
    not the actual sidestand switch.

Yup it does that. I have no problem 2 finger clutching with it, only happens in first gear as far as I know.

Stock lever? When you pull the clutch all the way in with your two fingers, does it go to idle or "idle+"?

Stock lever position 5 pulled all way in 1st gear. Revs normal, start to rise as lever approx 25 mm from bar.

Position 5?! Oh man, that makes it way worse for me. I got it at 1 and I still can't get it to normal idle unless I pull the lever back so far it smashes my ring and pinky. What the heck!

Maybe you want to work on your throttle control then. This is the first bike that I’ve had that has it, to be honest it’s made no difference to me how I set off.

This has nothing to do with the throttle. Are you smashing your middle and pinky as well or are comfy holding in the clutch with your two fingers?
