I'm calculating a day for folks to get to Montrose, CO and then a day to travel home, which gives us a day and a half to two days of riding??? Anyway, here's some ideas for routes, I"ll posting lodging options shortly after. Please speak up if you like/don't like the route choices or have something different. :)

    Unaweep Tabequache Scenic Rd
    http://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/7...cenic-Road---CO-141.html#sthash.ySdyd2A5.dpbs
Route: Montrose -> Gateway -> Naturita -> Placerville -> Montrose
This is a 232 mile ride. Throw in lunch, picture stops, gas, and large crowd, this would make a great day of riding and leave afternoon time
    for relaxation and socializing.

    San Juan Mountain Skyway
    http://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/134/Colorado/San-Juan-Mountain-Skyway.html#sthash.862uq3kW.dpbs
Route: Montrose -> Durango -> Mesa Verde Nat'l Park -> Cortez -> Telluride -> Montrose
This is a 294 mile ride, taking us down the Million Dollar Highway. We will also ride RIGHT by Mesa Verde Nat'l park (worth a look) and then up to the famous Telluride and then back to Montrose.

    Black Canyon Run
    http://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/144/Colorado/The-Black-Canyon-Run.html#sthash.MJiVThQU.dpbs
Route: Montrose -> Delta -> Hotchkiss -> Blue Mesa Reservoir -> Montrose
At only 134 miles, this would be an AWESOME breakfast run, possibly get breakfast in Gunnison?

Looks good. I will wait for an Ok on the dates and let you know by Monday. For me and Mad Doctor it would be between a 6-7 hr ride to Montrose on Friday the 7th around 340miles for me and 50 or so less for Mad Doctor. I hope it works out and you all like beer at the end of the day!;-) And you are not to early of risers.:) 35 yrs of working late night nights makes me only to want to wake up early to shoot something like Pheasants. ;-)

I'm good for June 7th-10th! I will make reservations if you both Igrok and Mad Doc are in. Let me know because I have to put a credit card on it. I think it is official. Let me know boys. Also Mad Doc and Igrok should we get a couple of rooms at the same place. I need a place that allows smoking in an area not necessarily in the room. Also I snore really bad Just a FYI. :)

I plan on camping (takes care of the snoring issue), so check with Doc, but I'm in. I'll post up where I'll be camping, arrival time, etc. this afternoon. Also, I'll pick out some places (beer) that have local flair (beer) and suggest a few for a linkup location. (beer)

I've been watching this thread to see what develops, thinking that maybe I'd use it as an excuse to do a long ride into the Colorado mountain region (from here in the flat lands of Denver) to link up for a bit of your route, then depart back to Denver. Now I'm seeing June 7-10 as the trip dates. So, crap, it's both a bad thing and a good thing: I'll be in Montreal that weekend for the Canadian Formula 1.

Really just posting to say your trip sounds like fun, would have loved the excuse to get the 5th Gen out on the highways of Colorado.

okay, looking at lodging, our better bet is to stay in Delta, Colorado. It's only 22 miles from Montrose and still a good spot for the routes that were suggested. Hotels are MUCH cheaper than Montrose.

If you go online, you can get a 2 person room for ~$100 ($50 each) which is way better than Montrose. Post up if that's the spot and I'll go ahead and reserve my place.

I will be camping (hammock). I will stay at the Valley Sunset RV Ranch if we decide to stay in Delta.

Igrok, I looked up the site and sent a email to them tonight to see about cabin availability. I think we should stay at the same place. $40 a night on the cabin if available and they look like small one bed cabins. I like the washer options as well . We need a common place to drink the beer and rally everyone the morning of each day. I just need something better than a sleeping bag with my back so this site does have 4 cabins to rent. I will keep you updated. If Mad Doc is looking to camp as well we could see if we could get a couple of sites close to one another. I will let you know if they email me tomorrow. I see that the tent sites are $15 a night.

I sleep in a hammock Bubba, so I'm good with the tent camping. I completely understand about not wanting to be on the ground. the cabin rentals are a really good deal! See if you can get one with bunk beds and split the cost

June 7th-10th or 11th. Looks like we have camping reservations at Valley Sunset RV Ranch in Delta. I am more of a bed guy- my tenting years are over.;-) so I have a tentative cabin reservation (the lady that takes the reservations was off today and an old guy booked me and said he would call if there was an issue). They have a couple on the camp site. They have a washer and dryer facility as well as power. $15 a night for the tent site and $40 a night for the cabin. Oh when I spoke to him he said the cabins have a queen bed and a bunk bed set up. So if the other cabin is booked and that is your go to- I will with good warning let anyone sleep in the bunk beds. I snore horribly due to sleep apnea, sleep walk sometimes and pee a lot:pisser: so the bunks are off limit to me.:nelson: But, having a cabin for storing gear while riding sounds like a good idea as well. The other best thing is that we can all be in one place and our bikes will safer than if I got a hotel in a bigger city. Mofo I hope you can join us here is the website. https://www.valleysunsetrvranchdelta.com/

Ok Igrok, as you see I am all in. Sounds like Mad Doc is as well and maybe Mofo. I do like that you found this park in Delta and then looking at it and finding out about the cabins to accommodating my needs to be together . I do like the camping aspect, but again it is just the sleeping that I need. It would be great if they will allow a tent next to the cabins, but they seem to be separate areas. I will call them to see if they will allow it with a charge. I wish that I saw some fire pits, but it looks like they are more oriented to R.V.s being self reliant. Some of the reviews state "Quiet" DAMINT LET'S PARTY! Oh well the riding is the most important thing. I like the routes and I think it just comes down to Saturday and Sundays riding routes. You gave us three and previously having Montrose as base camp. I really like the long one but I does state caution unti
I called and confirmed a cabin for the dates so I am all set. They have one more cabin and at $40 a night I would not hesitate. They do not supply bedding just the frame and mattress. So if you do go for the cabin you will need to bring some queen sheets or twins for the bunk beds. Also no tents allowed in the cabin area and no running water. just electricity and a t.v., microwave and a very small fridge. FYI. Also like I said earlier we can store unwanted gear or bags in the cabin when we ride so that is a plus. Also free Wi fi so we can send out nightly reports to the gang with pics. I don't know how fast but I will bring an ipad just for the hell of it. OH, no wood burning allowed so no camp fire. DAMNIT!;-)
