    Hi, I need some help.
My 2007 VFR800 has been sat since October. (Too cold and snowy to ride until now). I went to go for a ride today and the clutch is really easy to pull, hardly any resistance. The bite point is less than .5 inch and the bike wants to stall unless I give it enough gas. The clutch feels like it is either on or off with no play. Changing gear is normal as in no noise etc. I have checked the fluid level and it is full in the sight class. I took the top off the reservoir and it is full to the outer edge when the steering is centered and half way on the inside near the clocks.
The clutch literally has no pressure feel. A 1 day old baby would have the capicity to pull it, it is that light/loose/floppy you get what I mean.

    Thanks in advance.

The bike is 12 years old.
    Done 8000 km
Just had fresh Honda HP4 10W40 oil and filter

Maybe the clutch plates are sticking.

I am still working on my clutch and have decided to change the fluid as the problem seems to point that way, going by the service manual.
    1. There was no diaphragm. I had to order one from my Honda dealer as they don't carry these as stock. Just the soild metal cover and the white plastic seal.
    2. Inside at the bottom was this little metal piece. The service manual doesn't show it. Should it be in there and if so, where does it seat.

I have worked it out. I watched this video and at 10 secs, I could see where and how it should seat.
New Honda diaphragm, Honda DOT 4, bit of a bleed and first two goes were a mix of air and fluid. 3rd go and I have a clutch. Problem solved.

I was shocked to see no diaphragm in place and that metal piece just floating around.

A hint for some guys, to get the old fluid out of the master cylinder, I used a medical syringe to suck it out. Gets down into the tight spots really easy.

    Now to do the brakes!
