C82DA140-A4E7-45FB-8F0C-20B797192153.jpeg Greeting, new to the forum. I couldn’t pass up the purchase of a new 2015 VFR800 DLX discounted $5,800 from MSRP. Actually, $236 for a year of insurance pushed me over the edge (one of the few benefits of getting old). This is home after a 8 hour round trip ready to unload. The homemade wheel chock kept it nice & secure over shitty interstate roads @ 70+ MPH.

I’m impressed with the design and finish of this bike. It’s a clean sporty design with some nice color contrasts. I preferred a white one but no luck finding a great deal. Anyway, good paint quality and fit/finish. I’m diggin the self canceling turn signals. I find it odd the front calipers are Tokico and the rear is Nissin.

The riding dynamics are relaxed from what I’m used too. That’s not a bad thing because I need to start riding my age. The suspension compliance is really good. Comfortable. So far my only complaint is the fueling off idle in 1st gear when I’m trying to “creep” along. I added the 1.25” bar risers and the factory quick shifter. I plan to add a radar detector after I do some research. I’m also trying to convince myself it’s classy to have a sporty bike that’s quiet. Mature too. The opposite of all those fucking Harleys.

I’ve been riding for 50+ years. Started on a Honda Z50 and also have a 2003 RC51 as living room decor from over the past winter. I’ve always been partial to Honda’s since my childhood but had the Italian midlife crisis the past 10+ years. That included a 2013 Aprilia Tuono, 2012 Ducati Diavel, Monster S4RS and 900 SS SP.

It feels great to be back on a Honda!

This is a great forum you’ve got!

You’re going to love that bike, I’ve never regretted buying mine

I put a Rapid Bike fuelling module in mine, transformed the fuelling and the more I ride it the more it adapts to my needs, thoroughly recommend it

Did you get the cowl for the rear seat?

They’re in the crate with the rest of the bike so no fairy tales from the dealer that there wasn’t one

Welcome! Great first post, photo and all. I would like to have your trailer, that would be a great way to transport to a warmer area to ride in the winter months.

I have a red '98 that I almost always keep the solo seat cover on, and many onlookers are fooled into thinking that it is a Duc.

Great choice and welcome, I have a 2014 Deluxe which I got slightly used in Dec 14. You said you had 50 years experience, so we both must be around thr same age. I found the pegs too high for my old legs , so got a set of Knight Design pegs which lowered the pegs 1 1/2”. Made a big difference. A lot of great information and stories on this forum.

Thanks for the suggestion of the Rapid Bike module. I’ll check that out.

I did get the rear cowl. That was a nice surprise I was not aware of.
