So my 1985 interceptor 700 vf700f was running good then out of the blue started to back fire at wide open, and was just dumping fuel (watching the gas gage drop) just wanted to see if anyone has had this issue! Any help would be great! Clean carbs and good spark and plugs and fresh gas too

Is there a return line after the pump to avoid pressuring the system and pushing the floats down?

Was it running OK before the fuel pump swap?

pull the plugs and look for an improper black condition on one or more. u sure choke plungers are at zero when running and that cable isn't sticking ?

If it was good until you changed the fuel pump...I'd look at that first. You should be using a very low pressure pump, too much will overcome the float valves and flood the carbs.

It is a low pressure pump amd it has been on there the whole time, i think it is a coil that went bad, i ordered a new one! Seems to lost spark on one side of the motor! No choke on this bike! It runs really good when cold and after it warms up is when i am have problems with it! Bike was a rescue, guy was going to crush it! I put new carbs seals and did all new carb slides to!

a bike that starts without choke and gets funky when warm may be running too rich, why i suggested you inspect plugs, also air filter.

Hmmm, the one in the pics looks OK, the red is just from fuel additives...not sure I'm following here. When you said "dumping" fuel in the first post, did you mean on the outside of the engine?
