I want some new colour on my Gen5. Instead of messing up the nice red that's on it, I plan to repaint the hideous yellow parts from my spare bike and swap them.

The tank is clean and in very good condition, so I would like to just use the fuel pump and fuel level sender that is already on it and leave the red with it's own. I'm also having a hard time finding new gaskets locally, and having to order them online would cost me at least a week of waiting.

Is there a simple way to test if those are working as they should, without putting the tank on the bike?
I assume I could just apply 12V to the pump and let it spin up for a second, but how do I test the sender?
