I've had these tires and really liked them, but, I only got about 8K miles out of the set. I can get another couple hundred miles out of the front, but the rear should be replaced soon.
I'm mainly a commuter, not aggressive rider and don't think my riding style has changed, at least dramatically enough, since I installed these tires last year.
I do like how they grip the road and the way they wear out, but based on the mileage I got out of them I know I'll go back to pilot roads since I've ran them before and got about 12K miles out of the set.
Bought this set just to try something new, and I will consider some other ones.

What kind of mileage you get out of your sport touring tires and what are they?

Thank you for the Battlax report. I saw those tires recently and wondered about the mileage as they seemed very soft and 'grippy'.

8,000 miles is excellent for a sport touring tire! I've never gotten more than around 6,500 miles out of any. If you're more of a touring rider and don't care about performance cornering, you could go with a pure touring tire like a Metzler and possibly get 10k miles if you mind your tire pressures regularly.
I just put Dunlop Roadsmart IIIs on my 2014, and absolutely love them. They're dual compound with a soft grippy compound on the sides, but more durable in the middle. I just did 600 miles of high-performance riding last weekend in the Catskill Mountains on mostly twisty roads and they were outstanding. Nearly as much corner grip as their Q3+ trackday tires that I've used.

Wore my T31 out in just over 2.5k miles. Surprisingly rear lasted longer than the front.

I think the Bridgestone T31s are what came stock on my 2014. Terrible tires - my fronts were squared off after 3k miles. I've never experienced that before.

I had Dunlop Roadsmart as OEM tyres, awful, put Bridgestone B21’s on much better, the T31’s on now are my second set, I’m getting something around 7-8,000 a set

OEM tyres are always crap, sold by the 10,000 so never a representative example of what that tyre can really do ....

Fink ...you have hard rock aggregate in your roads, properly done it’s grippier than Shell Grip ...don’t complain I have limestone that polishes off in months with resulting drop in grip

I recently put T31’s on my vfr and love ‘em. They replaced a set of old worn Contimotion tires. So far these are the best tires I’ve had on the bike, if they go to 8k miles I’d be very satisfied. Great grip and stability, handles freeway rain grooves and broken pavement without missing a beat. Also have the previous generation T30 Evo tires on my NT700V, very nice tire.

The T31s were fine at first, but please follow up with a review after they have 4k miles on them.
One of the problems is that only the rear tire is dual compound (the front is single compound). This never made a lot of sense to me - when leaned over in a corner at speed, I want the same grip fore and aft.

The loading on the front is totally different to the rear, it’s all the soft compound ...I only know this because my BMWs all wore the front tyre out at an alarming rate and that was the explanation Bridgestone gave me

Which is why Fink and I wore out the fronts before the rears. Just makes no sense with the amount of weight and required friction transferred to the middle of the front tire everytime you brake.

No stock tyres on factory bike were t30s. These were superseded but t30evos about 6 months after release.

Factory tyres are usually shite and don’t last long.

I know, but it is getting a tad tedious having to change tyres every 8-10 weeks on the Bmw and after a weeks touring on these roads on the viffer.
I do feel sorry for you. The guys that come up for my weekends are amazed what can be done in the wet on the roads up here that would have you on your arse down there.

I was happy with the T30's I had when I bought my VFR. Like Fink, I wore the front out before the rear. So I'm about a 1000 miles into a set of T31's, and I'm very happy with them. I'll post an update as I cover more miles.

Thanks for the report. I have a set of T30 evos on my 5th Gen currently that are probably about half worn at around 2.5k mi and like them so far. I'll probably give the T31's a go once my current set is toast.

Some fucking lame ass pathetic looser slashed my tires on Monday night.
Instead of ordering tires online I had to buy one locally so I could bring my bike home home. I was going to order roadtec tires or pirelli angels, opted to go back to pilot road 4.

Jes that is sick man, what is wrong with people?!! I have PR3's fitted, next time I'll go with the Road 5's or Metz roadtec 01's, if I get 8000 miles from a set of tyres I'd be happy, I usually get 6500 from a rear tyre, front would do a bit more but always fit as a set.
