I don't love my X-grip. I didn't know there were diff sizes, but I can tell you the little rubber doo dads that help grip are not firmly attached. I lost two of them when I pulled my raincover off and didn't ever find them. It still holds my phone, but it's a little lop sided now. Also I find it difficult to get my phone mounted in it without hitting a button. This was with my old Samsung Galaxy Active, and with my iPhone 7 and now with my iPhone X. I don't even use it very often anymore because it annoys me.

You're supposed to super glue those one with the glue provided when you bought it. Just don't be an idiot like me and do it while it's on the bike as the glue will run down onto the triple clamp! :(

I now know what to do with the supplied glue. The small X grip is a little small for the I-phone 6 plus. However; it does fit, just. The other alternative is the get a phone case with a 1” ball already attached, and it is waterproof. Ultimate add ons.

I didn’t get glue with mine or at least I didn’t see it. That might have helped, though.

I dripped super glue on my tank! Stupid little glue spot has taunted me for a year.

I also didn’t read the directions and didn’t super glue my rubber pieces until a year later. However, it has been rock solid since I glued it.

I have luckily found those little rubber doo dads on the ground a couple of times. I glued them plus I found some velcro dots that were about 5cm (2") which fit perfectly over the back of the x-grip and then, of course I stuck the other part to my phone case. Now when I spread the x-grip to release the phone, the phone stays in place and I don't catch the rubber thingies. The added holding power is piece of mind too.
