    It's been nearly one year since my last moto purchase.

    Today, I bought a 04 Honda 599 for $1600, 15k mi. needs chain/sprockets/tires/front brake pads/lines:

    Looks like a proper black scooter down the far end.
    They are a very nice long distance tourer. How do you find it compared to the VFR's?

    Dos Equis as I call it; I ride it for my annual family gathering from Philly to Ann Arbor, MI.. usually less than 9 hours of saddle time.
    Compare to the VFR it's a boat, but rock solid at triple digit speed on highways.
    You have to mean it when you want to turn or maneuver in the twisties.

    How do you find the carbon wheels? I'd love a set on one of my RVF's but curious how they fare on a road bike.

    I'm liking it so far. It's got more tech than I need, but not all the fancy shit no one uses.
    I would have preferred the cruise be included at the MSRP, though.

    Picking up another Beemer, 2002 R1150RS, 22k mi. comes with fancy saddle.. small dent in the front wheel, needs some ABS fixing.

    01 model, nearly stock, under 8k miles, less than 30 miles ridden in the last 7 years, have been sitting in the last 2 years.
