BSB last weekend at Snetterton, Taz McKenzie did his best but couldn’t stop the Ducati’s ....race 2 looked promising until Taz slid off chasing the 3 Ducati’s .... getting very boring now at the front

Christian Iddon continues to race, very well too, with broken bones, last year his collar bone was hanging off, he had a broken leg over the weekend... Jamie Whitham “have you been to hospital yet” ..CI “what’s the point I know it’s broken”

The Supersport however was excellent racing as was the stock 1000

Michael Dunlop was back racing in Ireland this weekend at Lagge, Armoy .... winning both the Superbike races including the Race of the Legends




The other guy is Derek Shiels, Ulster rider that specialises in the Irish road racing scene and does Macau as well

 

Armoy Road Races: Michael Dunlop earns triumph 16 days after breaking pelvis

Michael Dunlop won both Superbike races at the Armoy Road Races just 16 days after breaking his pelvis at the Southern 100.

Dunlop, who is walking with the aid of crutches, beat Derek Sheils and Derek McGee to secure his eighth successive 'Race of Legends' win.

The Tyco BMW rider earlier beat Sheils and Sweeney to win the Open Superbike race.

The victories were Dunlop's 18th and 19th around his home circuit at Armoy.

Dunlop dominated to win by 4.4 seconds from the in-form Sheils in the Open race, making it an impressive double by winning the final race of the day.

Earlier, McGee completed a hat-trick of victories after winning the Moto 3 and Supersport races.

McGee, who edged out Paul Jordan in Friday's thrilling Supersport opener, eased to victory ahead in the 600cc race, with Jordan sitting out the day's racing after a coming together between the pair after the chequered flag.

Mullingar rider McGee also won the Moto 3 race from Gary Dunlop and Melissa Kennedy to complete a treble at the event, with Barry Davidson winning the Supersport 300 class in the same race.

Davidson made it a double and was first home in the Junior Classic race, with Vinny Brennan coming out on top in the opening Junior Support race around the County Antrim circuit.

McGee was denied four wins after retiring from the lead on the sixth lap of the Supertwin race, which allowed Andy Farrell to win from Neil Kernohan and Stephen McKnight.

Kernohan did claim a victory in the Lightweight Supersport race, winning from Kris Duncan and David Howard.

Dominic Herbertson was a popular winner of the Senior Classic race, which was in memory of Frank Kennedy, who was killed at the North West 200 40 years ago.

There was a maiden win for Ryan Fenton in the Senior Support race as he led home Andy McAllister and Tommy Henry in the day's penultimate race.

 

Impressive ride from JR on the last stint, I was pretty sure the Kawasaki team would win, but that was close at the end

I was also pretty sure that Kyonari was going to be a dud but he cost Honda the race, forcing the other 2 riders to cover is not acceptable, he shouldn’t have been offered or accepted the ride, he’s been last in BSB for the last 2 seasons ...Forres should have had that ride

Looks like Michael was a bit early calling himself fit to race, although the medics examined him and called him fit to race, 2 wins later :-

 

Peter Hickman continues to dominate the road scene after putting in a very decent performance in BSB last weekend on as he likes to point out a bike with a stock BMW engine




Peter Hickman's record-breaking lap of 136.415mph was the highlight of the opening night of racing at the Ulster Grand Prix.

Hickman stormed to victory in the Superbike race, reinstating the Ulster Grand Prix as the 'World's Fastest Road Race' with a stunning lap.

He then won a Supersport thriller from Lee Johnston while Supertwin honours went to Paul Jordan.

Neil Kernohan and Michael Dokoupil took Lightweight and 125/Moto 3 victories.

BMW rider Hickman dominated the opening Superbike encounter, surging past Dean Harrison on lap three before setting his record-breaking lap.

Hickman had extended his leading margin to 5.681 seconds by the end of lap four before the red flags came out to clear up a bike on fire at the Quarries.

With rain predicted for Saturday, Thursday's sole Superbike race was seen as the only chance to reclaim the coveted 'World's Fastest Road Race' title from the Isle of Man TT and Hickman duly obliged with a scintillating lap.

The Lincolnshire rider doubled up in the Supersport race after a race-long battle with Fermanagh rider Johnston.

The pair were tied together throughout the 600cc classic with Hickman making a decisive move into Wheelers on the final lap to snatch the win from the Yamaha rider.

Paul Jordan took his first international road race win after coming out on top in a five-rider battle for the victory in the Supertwins.

The Magherafelt rider held off a charging Joe Loughlin and Jamie Coward to take the chequered flag, with Johnston again missing out on the chance to challenge for victory after he retired from second place on the penultimate lap when his engine expired.

There was also a fantastic battle for the Lightweight victory as Kernohan edged out Davy Morgan by just 0.062 seconds on count back after another last-lap red flag. The rider was uninjured in the incident.

Czech rider Dokoupil made it two wins in as many years in the Ultra-Lightweight class after beating Christian Elkin to first spot.

There is a seven-race schedule in place for Saturday but the weather forecast suggests that rain will interrupt the programme at the County Antrim circuit.

I think KTM are going to give Binder a lot attention next year but where will Zarco end up?

 

There are going to be a lot of very high quality riders and there won't be enough seats available. The priority has always been to provide for upward mobility through the various classes, but I believe there are now too many high quality riders and not enough seats to go around. This might end up helping WSBK in the long run, but the whole situation is getting really messy right now.

 

two less seats in Moto2 and KTM pulling out of the class as well, maybe Zarco will go on 'gardening leave' just in case there is a spare Yamaha seat in 2021 depending on what Rossi will be doing or will Zarco leave Moto GP altogether as there will be a lot of young talent coming up from lower classes, very intriguing

 

watched part of this weekends BSB and noticed the Gino Rea is racing the MV replacing Danny Kent and there was no mention why which I thought was a bit odd so Googled it and found that he had been dropped by the team as he had a 4 month suspended jail sentence for carrying a knife in a public space, he got into scuffle with a 63 year old man and the guy noticed the knife and reported it to the police, what a dick head he should have everything going for him but seems to have wasted it all, I wonder if it has fucked up his racing career?, long time for a young man to have to change professions and keep earning and wondering how things should have been for him

yes bit of a cockhead thing to do, totally fucked himself up and hopefully he will come to realise that in the future, but it makes you wonder about him, maybe he thinks he knows best as I remember James Toseland ( number 52 rider that inspired Danny Kent to use the same number) commenting on the fact that he he gave him some advice when he was struggling with lack of form and he ignored the so maybe he is his own worst enemy

A good weekend of racing, Danny Buchan leading the Ducati’s home in Race 1 was really good to see, the overtake on Brookes was perfect, all achieved through talented riding

I don’t know or care what happened to Redding, started the season whining that “they’re all out to get me”, FFS, his general attitude at the other races, then ignoring the long lap signals at Thruxton and bleating about being penalised he’s just confirmed his prima Donna/asshole status, I feel sorry for Andy Irwin though cos he felt guilty having Redding off

Redding is showing the pressure. He needs to win the championship for his career.

 

There's scuttlebutt that Ducati is considering Redding to replace Bautista over in WSBK, if Bautista ends up heading to Honda. Not sure what the latest is, he may have already decided but I haven't read any confirmation on it just yet. Don't have anything against Redding but he never seemed to show much in MotoGP.
