For the book I’m 5’11” or 1.8m in new money.

Helmet used either Schuberth E1 or Arai chaser. Both fit well.
    Wear custom fitted earplugs.
    Have 1/2” risers.

I thought it best to leave top box on to give you a good idea on the height of the screen

Overall conclusion of trying 3 different screens in 4 configurations the Givi and standard work best for me.
The 3rd screen not pictured was a puig touring screen with the adjustable blade. It was removed after 250 miles because above 70 mph in any configuration it caused so much turbulence that my head was shaking to the extent I was getting double vision.

Top pic Givi touring great screen saves you most of the windblast although head is still in the airstream and noisy

Middle power bronze double bubble good screen better wind protection than normal screen still getting Windblast from top of shoulders.

Bottom std screen wind blast from about nipple level up. Sitting up higher still in blast but drops the windnoise down dramatically.
Holes in screen are where I had fitted the adjustable screen. Verdict about as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

For your height getting a short screen is the probably best way to get you helmet into smooth air, and less noise.
As a side benefit you would get more air flow helping to support your body at speed. And more airflow
to, and through, the helmet to help with cooling.

My present cut down screen stops just about at the top of the black material on the back of your dash. I'm
just too short to completely get my helmet out of the noisy air. I may try riding without any screen for a
couple rides and see if that helps. But it's just the shape of the front of the bike that puts the noisy air right
at the mouth guard of my helmet. If I sit up very straight, it's very quiet, but not practical for any distance
    to speak of.

I don't care for touring screens, I had my fill of those with a Gold Wing I got rid of. I like the feel of the wind
on me. The cooling is really necessary here as the temps are around 100°, about 38° C.

Good info here, thanks for sharing... I've got the stock screen, I'm 5'7" and I found that I get clean air by adjusting the seat (front on middle, rear on low - I think -- haven't looked in a while) I do have the Motopumps 0.6" risers and the Knight design peg lowers. I initially had a problem, like you, of feeling like a bobble head doll, but another poster suggested the seat alternative and thus far so good, I do get some lift at the helmet when at speed and turning my head to the side, which I suppose might be helped if I put the chin curtain in the helmet... thanks again for sharing

I have an MRA with the wing. I think its a differnt model than this one but it gives you the idea. The wing does a great job and in seconds tucks down when its hot to give you some air.

Can +1 on the MRA Vario, but you better wear some ear protection.
Am 5'7 and I like how much difference it makes when the wing is up or down.
When the wing is down your head is in the wind, but you don't feel much of it.
When the wing is up, your helmet will bobble around in turbulence, but it's not that noticeable, but wear ear protection because the turbulent air will make your ears bleed. However, your upper body will be much more relaxed at higher speeds.

I found that just a tiny angle change on the wing will get rid of the buffeting. Try tilting it forward a bit.

Any bike where the screen and instrument panel is close to you cannot ever be made to shield your head from wind. I tried the MRA Vario and a taller screen on my old bike (2006 Multistrada) where the dash and screen were also set close to the rider and nothing worked....that is why almost all of the newer touring/adventure touring bikes have the screen (and dash) set farther away - more distance to send air over your head. One of the reasons I bought the VFR was that the screen was set-in closer - much more fun to ride not having to look at/through the dash/windscreen....like be strapped to the hood of a car - all you see is the road ahead...best to leave the stock screen as is and trust in the Honda engineers:motocop:

Yeah, I'll never have another bike where you have to look through the screen. BTDT, got
the tremors to prove it. Night, in the rain, fair amount of traffic, that is no fun.

In the end I have cut 10cm off the original screen. It is an awful lot quieter now.

I'm 5' 5" and had the Givi for a while but there was so much noise, even with my ear plugs I went back to stock. Recently did a 800 mile trip with the stock, I much prefer it and will stick to it.

6’1” with the puig sport screen, the one shorter than the touring by an inch or two. I’ve used it with the MRA blade wing thing. I prefer it without the clip on, clean quiet air. Only prefer the wing when it’s real cold otherwise I don’t notice any difference in noise or wind blast.

Finally got round to buying and installing the Givi screen for my VFR.
It looks very substantial, great quality and wasn’t too expensive (thanks to First Line Motorcycles in North London)
Fitted it but was a bit of a faf and snapped the middle tag on that plastic inner dashboard cover that needs to be removed to access the screen mounting Allen bolts.
I’m no Swiss watch engineer and use a great deal of profanity which I keep in my toolbox for all these little jobs that need doing on bikes, cars and around the home, but why why and bloody why do so many manufacturers make easy jobs difficult?
Honda use these silly fasteners and tabs that are hard to undo and easy to break!
Never had these issues with my Suzuki VStrom.
    Grrrrr
