Are the front disc floating? On a 1993 VFR750?

Yesterday I threw in a freshly recharged BMC airfilter.
Today I removed the clutch slave and master cylinder and hose.
    It was a PITA to keep the gunk out of the cilinders (it was brown/black like);
Upon further inspection it was probably the hose that went bad. (Rubber?)
Also replaced the clutch slave cylinder seal because I suspect that to be the culprit of my clutch losing grip at higher temps (95°C). and I also put in a freshly opened bottle of brake fluid.
    Master cylinder still looks good.
I replaced the hose to a cheap AliExpress model (5€/5$ who cares) and the fitment is "good". I needed to grind off a piece of metal on the master cylinder to get the hose to fit :)

With all this, the clutch feels like new again, it has a nice pull and does not leak anywhere. Kept the torque specs (34Nm) and put new copper washers in.
Let's see if the bike still wants to let go off the clutch lol.

    Installed new tyres and washed.
Bike always feels so much better with new rubber.

Did you remove the rear view mirrors? Obviously but why? What gen is this again? Because the front headlight is the best that has ever been IMO.

Nothing better than showing off your 'Junk" aka single swing arm REAR wheel. I wish I could get my 10 spoke out more on my 8th gen and would like it better if it was silver rather than copper. But the 8th gen does better at matching both front and back in spoke design. Good looking bike. the saddle looks comfy as well.

Ha! No, the rear view mirrors are still there, just a funny angle of the pic.
Also run of the mill 5G headlights, but it does look funny from that angle.

Actually thinking of painting the wheels gold for next season.

Think it would look cool with the dark green and gold wheels

Yeah that’s why I fitted the high mount exhaust..
To show of the rear wheel...
    So cool

With the green, the copper would be killer IMO. With mine being red I don't know why they went with copper on the wheels and engine cases. Good luck and post when and if you do so.

I am looking at painting my 8th Gen more like the 2012 VFR1200 with a metallic candy apple red and powder coat the wheels a different color this fall. It is that or a new mattress that they will find me dead in. When I go I would rather be on the bike than in my bed being single. But seeing that we spend half of our lives sleeping & shitting I am at odds. Either way about the same cost. ;-)

I investigated a sudden death years (decades) ag0 where the guy croaked sitting on the thone. That must have been a hell of a shit. He must have needed a lot more fibre in his diet.

Installed a Power Commander V, immediatly loaded up an EU tune from dynojet themselves because I don't have a dyno in the near vicinity.
First impression is that the bike reacts to throttle a little bit faster and does smell more like gas.
Maybe in the future I'll try to get the bike tuned properly but right now I'm happy that I know the bike gets a little more gas in the cylinders because I was concerned about running too lean.

Took of the front fairings, to replace the instrument cluster bulbs... Took me some time
To figure out what to take off first.
In the end it came off and now I can do it with no trouble...
It was a PITA to put back on though...
Now the clocks are shining bright and bluish...

My bike has sat around for a few years and not moved so I am re-doing the consumables.
This weekend I did the clutch slave cylinder. Took everything out, replaced the two rubber seals, new spring, re-grease the push rod, new gasket and put back together.
Not getting pressure on the clutch... WTF... Took the slave off to have a look. I pinched the gasket when putting it back together, so it broke. No seal when I try to get pressure so the DOT4 is leaking out. New gasket on order!
