Hi guys, hopefully something with some decent knowledge can help me out here as I'm a noob when it comes to maintenance.

I had opened up the airbox to give it a bit of a clean our and had noticed this little opening an the rear of the box ( indicated by the arrow). This little opening has a pipe that leads out the back of the airbox and connects to the top of the rear cylinder back.

Can anyone tell me what this is and what does it do?

I probably wouldn't have noticed it had it not been for the very small amount of oil/mayo inside it.

It seems that whatever is in it had sputtered a little into the airbox as there is a oilly residue around the throttle body opening and at the bottom of the filter. Again this is a very small amount but caught my eye.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

*Incase it's relevant I'd add that at the last service the mechanic had apparently overfilled the oil slightly. It's very slightly above the top level but when I questioned it they had said it's only slight and shouldn't be an issue.

don't worry too much about it - thats from the oil breather pipe into the airbox.. Is the engine pulling fine ?

Yeah the engine is completely spot on no issues at all. I did reckon that it had turned like that due to moist air coming through the airbox but just wanted someone smarter to let me know lol.

    Thanks for the help.

Is the oil sight glass clean or can you see this mayo there?
If not it just needs a good long ride to get properly hot and burn the moisture off.

The sight glass is clear, apart from some 2000 mile old oil which of being changed soon.

The bikes been sitting for nearly 3 weeks which is about 3 weeks longer than normal lol. I'll give it a good run in the next few days and hopefully it will have burned off them.

    Thanks
