Hello from Nova Scotia all you viffer riders!!!
I bought my first VRF,.. a 2000 dark green this October and I never got to ride it before winter storage. So I am currently experiencing bike fever far worse than what I'm used to. But there's hope. Yes, thanks to all you good folks on VFRW,... I think I can make it through the winter. I love the pictures and discussions and interaction.
I've been riding for a long time (bike license in 1988) and have wanted a VFR since the early 1990s. Funny how life gets in the way sometimes. But alas it was my time! The 5th gens really get my motor running. I was lucky to find a beauty this fall. I can't wait to get in the saddle and begin my next chapter of riding. If all goes well, we'll (my viffer and I) be atop Mount Washington, NH this summer. I'm sure I'll be the only dark green viffer on the summit with Nova Scotia plates so if you see me, by all means come over and chat with me.
    Cheers
    Steve

A big welcome to you Steve! I think that you will be very happy with your 5th gen, I know that I am with mine. How may km/miles are on the clock, and do you plan on wrenching on it over the winter?

    Hi Joe,
Thanks for the nice welcome and touching base.
My viffer has 70km (45miles) on the odo. This bike has had some very responsible owners who took pride in maintenance. It's in great running order and looks clean. Some wrenching is needed however. The triple clamp bearing is not smooth so I am going to replace it, and I need a new rear tire. As an upgrade I will be installing Oxford grip warmers and maybe a Zero Gravity or Double Bubble windshield.
    Cheers
    Steve

I feel your pain. I live in Maine. My bike is also put away. The good part of winter is your bike feels brand new every spring. Just enjoy the 4 months you get to ride it. Lol. Welcome to vfr world.

Welcome here and stay awhile. The Green is the most coveted colour, mine for 20 years. I did the Hwy 2 run through Maine, NH, NY last summer and it was a terrific ride. Enjoy that sweet VFR.

    Hi Hondaman,
Thanks for saying hello. Great looking bike you have there.
No doubt winters are tough, As if the ice and the snow aren't enough to get you down,.. then there's not being able to ride your bike. Ugh!! Oh well there's always hockey.
    Cheers

    Hey Laker,
Your bike looks quite familiar. Haha. Yes the green is something special no doubt. I've actually never seen one out on the road. Just a few photos and now the one I own. A few of my friends have seen photos of mine and they think it's black. They'll be surprised in the spring when they see it in person.
    Cheers

OMG, two guys with the green ones.... I am green with envy, I've never seen one, until recently, never knew they existed.

I've read that the green is named, Dark Coniferous Green. Is that true? I know different countries have different colours and different names for similar colours but id's be neat to see who comes up with what.
