Hey all, I’m back! I missed my old VFR so when I saw this beauty go up for sale at my local dealer I decided to reward myself with another VFR800 for Xmas :) I still have my SMAX scooter (which is awesome) but wow it’s nice to have a VFR back in my garage!

It has just over 8K miles and I got it for $7,500 OTD (including 7% sales tax, tag, and title). It is pretty much bone stock with the original exhaust and even has all the warning stickers on the tank, LOL. It came with the OEM Honda pearl white hard side bags which lock with the ignition key, quick shifter, tank pad, power socket, and some Michelin tires.

According to the dealer, the original owner is an MSF instructor who bought it new from them (along with several other bikes) and is anal about maintenance. The thing is flawless and is so clean I’m tempted to park it in my living room so I can drool over it while I watch tv, LOL.

Here’s some pics and I look forward to catching up on what’s new in VFR World (I’m guessing not much has changed, LOL) 63311010-CB3A-4A54-A9A5-1AF252397BAC.jpeg 7764E13A-E76A-4AF2-9737-14AD99AE87F1.jpeg 9F6F33EA-91F7-4F6E-9ED5-E94995324D0E.jpeg D01524D4-BEA7-4B4D-B0CF-8E1854CD30C4.jpeg 566D381D-BF57-4329-8229-E552D3779E4E.jpeg

Welcome back...... what an ugly bike, LOL... actually it's a beaut, sat on one a couple of weeks ago, the pearl white is really nice. Maybe later post up a pic with the bags on?

    Welcome back.

I am so envious. I just love aesthetics and style of the 8th gen. I found one in Vancouver at a dealership for sale fully loaded bags and all, Pearl White, Deluxe model. Just what I was wanting. The price was pretty decent too. BUT. I went there, credit card in had, and willing to take pretty much whatever they would offer for mine, and ride that thing home. I took it for about a one hour ride, I found that the ergonomics on the 8th gen is not at all compatible with the back and hip issues I have. So I had to back away from the purchase. Man I was just soooooo disappointed. I have drooled over that bike since they came on the market.

Good news is, the tech as this large dealership thought they could resolve the mechanical issues I was having with m y bike and they did so I am still happy. But I would have loved to get that 2015 they had for sale.

    Again, welcome back GG.

Thanks, here’s the bags, they look to be in perfect condition. I think the previous owner stuck the red reflective tape on the back - I’ll post some pics on the bike when the weather improves. 994204DA-2315-46EB-988E-2B542D8E96A9.jpeg

Hey Randy! Yeah the 8th gen from what I’ve read is a bit more hunched over than the 6th gen. I wonder if the Honda bar risers would make it more tolerable for you? Glad to hear your bike is running strong.

Hey Mr. Bond! Perhaps you can tell me what this secret agent device is under my seat? I assume that’s the OEM Honda 12v accessory but what’s the Moose thing? I’m guessing a battery tender? Or maybe it powers the passenger ejector seat? :D

I love this Honda tank pad. Anyone know what it cost new? Also, I’m really impressed with the quality of the side bags, I had no idea there was an aluminum heat shield hiding under the right bag. What did they cost?

It wasn't the bending in the back that was the issue. That part of the ergonomics really has not changed from the 6th gen. It is the compression of the legs that was bothering me the most. With both the arthritic hips and the back injury. For a quick scoot around I was fine but after an hour, I was pretty sore, And my riding mostly consists of very long trips. Like I said, I was so disappointed because I have been wanting that 8th gen pearly baby for a long time. I think I had a tear in the eye when I parked it back at the dealership.

That’s too bad. Did they have the seat set in the high position? If not that might help a bit, but probably not enough to make a huge difference.

It looked like it was in the high position to me but I can't be sure on that. But I am all over that now. I had mixed emotions over selling the one I have but now that it is fixed, I have fallen in love with it again.

Next winter, I am going to have it painted, again, and fix the damage I caused to it when I crashed down in Baja October 2018. I think I will not replace the graphics though. I have tired of them now. I cracked the front fairing and gouged up the right bag a bit. I already have a fairing given to me that needs some beautification work done. It is red, so I will sand it down to at least the primer before it goes into the shop for paint. Red panels below fresh white paint really shows the scratches really bad, as I have learned from my hard bags that I bought used. They were red too.

That Moose thing is covering an SAE connector... your second pic has the label for an Optimate battery charger..... so it should be connected to the battery and can be used for a Battery Tender.

I opened my saddlebags and found all sorts of great stuff, including a quick shifter! The dealer told me it had a quick shifter but I didn’t realize it wasn’t installed yet, I guess this explains why I couldn’t get it to quick shift, LOL
