I used to live in KS for a bit, and I was able to get away with just bundling up in a fleece lined riding suit, good boots, and good gloves. Difference there was it was cold all day. I'd dress for 20°, and if be good. It was also easier to acclimate.

Living in the desert, the temperature can swing as much as 50° or more in a day. This day in particular, it was mid 60s when I left, and low 30s when I was on my way home. Even in the spring in summer, the have been days where it was 90+ in the dessert, and as I rode out towards the coast, the temps would drop into the 40s. The first night I rode through that, I decided to start investing in heated gear.

Your right though, most of the time, CA has beautiful weather, at least at the coast anyway.

installed EBC HH rear brake pads on my 93, I did'nt care for the organic blacks I had on there. Have blacks on both gen three bikes on the front though, now both have HH golds on the rear. Gona get a new seat cover for "First Wife" 91 bike. Happy New Year :mech:

Finally got around to taking off the old headers and the center stand.
So far, almost at 30lbs of weight reduction.

Went for a nice ride today after getting the electrics sorted out. Crazy thoughts of selling it and another bike to get a cbr1000rr, don’t need one but damn I want another one. Had an ‘06 back in the day.......

I know what you mean. The new 1000RR is amazing. Not sure if they changed anything f0r 2020, but the 2019 model is worth every cent, even if it is the most expensive bike in it's category, by a pretty solid margin (apart from the Panigale V4, which honestly is not that impressive).

But as much as I love Honda, I have to admit, that if I was in the market for that kind of bike right now, I would be looking pretty damn hard at the BMW S1000RR. That thing is something else. And it's so much cheaper that you can actually get it with the full M package with carbon wheels and all the trimmings, for less than the base model CBR.

Here in the U.S. there are new leftover 2017-2018 CBR’s base models selling in the 10k to 11k usd range, the SP version is being discounted as well. The 2020 model is a different beast from what I’ve read. I’m also liking the Suzuki gsxr1000 as well. Really can’t go wrong with any of the latest liters, they are all pretty amazing machines. Great time to be in the market for one!

I was just thinking about 2020 model prices. But you are right, the leftover bikes can usually be had for a good price.
And to be perfectly honest, the 2017-2018 CBR is WAY prettier than the 2020. The mat black with red decals is one of the best looking bikes I have ever seen (and same color scheme as my VFR).

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder. The SP in the GP tricolor makes the black look like a lump of coal, imho.

Great deals indeed on new leftover CBR1000RR's, I just bought this new leftover 2018 SP this week. I'm freakin stoked, this is for my 50th birthday present, getting old don't suck. :)

    Thx guys!

PNW weather is not playing nice this week with snow and rain, I couldn't wait anymore so her first ride was in the truck. Once home though was able to get her out for a quick rip, have to break it in so nothing crazy, but she felt great all around. Now home and bonding with her new stable mates, the 3 Ho lineup of sport, sport tour, and full tour. :)

How do you afford the insurance for that collection?

It's not that bad, ~$100/month for all of them together with full coverage, roadside, etc with Progressive. Although half of that is just the new CBR, I was paying ~$50/month for all the bikes except the CBR.

Want for a ride yesterday across the London traffic in the rain...
Had a blast - the bike was perfect, my filtering skills were put to really good use, didnt even worry about the rain.
It was a fun ride - well once the tyres got a little heat in them - lol

Excellent, Pete. Nothing better for the head than just letting it rip. Putting that R&R to very good use.

Very nice Viffer J. Your bikes look terrific. As noted by my Ontario Brothers that collection plus your truck would be $10k/yr here for insurance. But we are Sucka's here and even put that Super Jackass Trudeau back in office. Enough of our issues. Enjoy that sweet new Honda Viffer J.

Thx Laker, wow that's crazy!

I'm guessing there must be some positive trade off being up there though right? :Noidea:
