I quit riding 5 years ago and it’s time for the bike to go. I did keep it cranked for a year or so but one day the Fuel pump quit. So it sat. This past week I cleaned the tank and put another fuel pump from a bike I parted out years ago. This one runs and primed as it should but the bike won’t fire. I did shoot starting fluid to make sure it would fire and it did. I don’t have the drive anymore to mess with it and I won’t it gone. Bike has 24k, partial polished wheels, staintune high mount. Tires are new but at least 5 years old. The bike has 100% always been garagesd. Also I have a clean title that will NOT come with the bike. For sentimental reasons I don’t won’t this bike bake on the road. It you have the time and interested you can keep what you want and part out the rest. You guys know you can get your money back out just in the forks, speedo and headlight, lol. I’m just south of Raleigh NC.
1200 bucks. Send a email or phone number and I can send pics. I’m not willing to ship or part the bike out myself.

Um, You'll sell the bike, but not give the title?

Yelp, 100% Clean title. I bought the bike about 8 yrs ago, sold to my brother in law (best friend) in 2016. He never rode it and was gonna sell it so I bought it back. He past away this past feb and for sentiment reason I don’t want the bike to be put back on the road. Yes, the title is 100% clean and mine. I will give Vin num to any serious potential buyer.

Is the paint original? Hard to tell in the pictures, look an odd color.

It has been repainted Chevy Sunset orange. If you notice the front signals have been relocated to the mirrors. Very tastefully done and no signs the sigs were every in the fairings. Once the fairings are off they are no other signs of repair bedsides the where the sigs were.
Just though aboutvghis too, it has the 929 shock conversion also.

I get and respect why you want to keep the title and get rid of the bike itself but I think most buyers would be gun shy about buying a complete and potentially road capable bike but not able to make it so without a title, although making it a track only bike might be an option to some, unless you had an issue with that option.

I'm thinking that most folks are probably have the same feeling as you about breaking a bike down and selling it for parts, too much time and effort to deal with. I'm sure you can find someone to buy it whole and either part it out themselves or at least take the bits they might need and dump/get rid of the rest but it might take you a while to find that person. Good Luck to you.

    Cheers

I agree about the sentimental value of the bike and things. Life is full of those hard moments where you have to reflect on family and friends. This past year for me was like that.......
Maybe a little party with close friends with the bike as the center piece is in order.

But ultimately if you don't want the to break down parts off the bike, chances are it's still no title, no sale.
    (I kinda want the engine)

Perhaps consider you can have the title copied and reproduced, nicely framed where you can showcase it....???

Not worth the hassle of dealing with the gyrations and emotions. It's either legitimately for sale, or it isn't. My hunch is that it isn't for sale, and never really was. No title, no sale.

I don’t see why this is hard to understand, it’s listed as a parts bike. Others are interested in it a street rideable bike, not me.

Repost it. Skip the history. Say there is no title.

I could but everyone would ask about the title since it’s a complete bike. If the shoe was on the other foot I would ask too.

I don't think that withholding the paper title is guaranteed to keep a legally purchased bike off the road. I'm not 100% sure about all DMV/BMV's around the country but I think in many places, it would be still possible to apply for a duplicate title with a proper bill of sale/proof of purchase. But, I don't work for the DMV/BMV and IANAL either...
