It's actually a provincial thing.... depends on what risk area you're in, what you're insuring, e.g., an FZ1 by itself will cost me $1800/yr. a VFR less than half that. If you insure your house and car with the same underwriter, big savings. It's a no fault system as well, so we all pay a little for that, but we have the highest rates in the country I believe (unless BC is more).

I would pay 1400/yr or around 1100us for my vfr. Basic coverage and the best discounts.

In BC you pay insurance on every bike if you want to jump on it and go. Or you call and switch from storage ins to riding as needed.

I moved from Washington where it was so much easier to have multi vehicles.

Took the bike for its first test ride in 9 months, it was stripped down to the frame and engine for a heap of work over winter.

My wife, a happy girl on her baby for the first time on 9 months.

I have a clear license and have had my bike license since the 90's. I'm paying about $80 CDN for an '02 VFR a month. If I were to get another bike it would probably be the same again or more if it were to be a sport bike. I also have 2 cars and 2 houses that I insure as well. I have searched everywhere and cannot find a better rate. Just a little jealous...

IMG_2178.JPG I am the same Zombie. Licensed since 1980 (I know I don't look that old), $80 per month for my 2000 that I bought 20 years ago. 2 Houses, 2 cars means I am paying out the Ass for F-ing insurance. Since I live in the city next to Brampton that has the highest fraud rate, they bend me over twice. Only thing I got going for me is my vintage bikes, 1981 Yamaha RD350LC and 1986 Yamaha XT350 are $240 per year. I work on Team USA so I hear the stories of $49/yr for their Harleys. Yes, Super Jealous. Carry on....

    It
It was actually a day of mixed feelings Duc.
The ST has 35,000km on it and has been looked after very well.
It is lighter, more powerful, has quicker steering geometry and places more weight on the front wheel which I like.
Integrated hard bags are a great addition which I’ve been wanting for a long time.
After a good test ride I’ve noticed that it is in urgent need of suspension upgrade as it is sprung too soft, and the progressive springs up front tries to please everyone, but achieves the exact opposite.
It is also geared too high, and I will be dropping a tooth on the front sprocket as soon as I get it home.
Seat height is the same as on my raised rear 5G, but bars are a little bit higher and slightly further back, not a lot mind you. My legs are a bit more relaxed as well.
I just couldn’t give up my single sided swingarm, so that’s a big plus.
The sound of my 5G with the Staintune can never be replaced, and even though the triple sounds good, it is way too quiet for my liking, so that needs to change.
After the test ride jumping back on the 5G to go home, it felt like putting on your favourite pair of old boots, it just fits.
There’s nothing wrong with my Honda, as a matter of fact I only got it exactly how I wanted it in the last 2 years, but it’s time for a change. I’ve covered a very enjoyable 70,000km on it since I bought it, and it’s a very different bike from the one I rode out on that very first time.
I use to say that I would always be back to a Honda V4, but I must admit that there is nothing available that stirs my soul, I’m afraid that the last one was the 5G.
I’ll chime in again to keep you updated on the Triple once I give it a good shakedown, I’m again going on our yearly pilgrimage to Phillip Island for WSBK via the long way in a few weeks. That should be a good testing ground.

Crappy paint job. That isn't one of my strengths. But I mounted up a replacement fiberglass upper fairing. Looks good from 20 feet away. Fitment was good but not excellent. It was from ebay seller in Poland.

Blasted the snake and Stunt road twice. Haven’t been for a blast in maybe 1/2 year, just commuting.
Bike and I were one, felt so good and glad I went.
    Boy did I need therapy.
Also listening to Yes, Rush, Joe Bonamassa.
    Best day ever

I haven't posted here for a while, but since I've done quite a few tinkerins to moto so I can keep riding.

Though I've done the work myself, credit goes to all my pals for long-distance help and guidance along the way that I've taken in while contemplating plans of attack in muh garage chair.

    20200229_190539.jpg

I am happy to have learned much during my breaks of non-huge ridings.

I feel I could tackle anything on moto given I have the proper tools... and at times two hands when that may be needed like in bleeding linked brakes.

    Anyhoo, some things:

Last night I dabbled in an oil change and new battery.

    20200229_190430.jpg

Some not so in the past basic fixins I have taken care of:

    R/R and Stator
    Fork Oil
Coolant flush with new rad cap
    Front and rear CCTs
    Plugs
    Brake Pads
    Oil and air filters
    More Oil changes
Chain and sprockets (had help riveting chain)
    Swapped front sprocket for OEM

    Prolly more stuff I'm forgetting...

Bring on engine rebuild when time... These tasks make me happy!

    20200229_161756.jpg

Ready to ride this baby to 200,000 miles! Let's GO! BRRRAAAPITY BRRRRAAAAAP BABY!
