Had a little miss hap today and now I need to fix the problem. I am struggling to get the black instrument cover off. It says there is gromits holding it in place. When I try to pry it off, things seem to creak like they are going to break.
Do the coloured plastic sides need to come off before?

    New clear cover on order.

The words that came out my mouth when this happened.....aaarrgghhh

You need to take the front cowl off , unbolt it from the frame, then remove 11 screws holding it all together after you have disconnected the electrics.

Yep, I know that. But the manual states you have to remove the black plastic instrument panel first. When I try to get it off, you can tell thst things feel like they are about to crack as you put pressure on them.

What manual are you reading? The instrument panel t( the thing with the black cover that has a cracked screen) is bolted to the front subframe.

Unless your talking about a different black thing.

I think there might be some confusion between 1200 and 800? I know the trim piece you are talking about, but I'm only familiar with the 800, sorry.
