I know it’s a long shot but I plan on starting to overhaul my bike starting this weekend and am looking or the 6th Gen OEM side bags. If I could get them in Italian Red great, if not I wouldn’t mind re-painting them even though that color is sooo hard to match. Let me know. Thanks

Looking at a few bikes and still undecided, but 2 of the bikes I'm considering (an '02 and '03) comes with the red OEM hard bags (and mount bracket) that I might be willing to sell if I buy one of them. Don't plan any long rides so I'd likely never use them. I imagine shipping them is a bugger and costly though.

Those are not compatible with the 6th gen VFR as far as I know. The 6th gen is considerably different that the 8th gen, (This add says 2014 - 2016. The 6th gen runs 2002(?) to 2009 here in North American. Bags from any year in that range will fit any 6th gen.

You may wish to search out a Givi set I believe one of the Givi luggage sets is identical to the OEM. A few people have told me that Givi actually makes the OEM hard bags for the bikes but I doubt that.

Hey, man. The two bikes I was looking at sold (not to me, obviously) so I don't have the bags. Good luck on your search.

Wrong side of the pond but there is a set of Black panniers and mounting rack currently for sale on eBay in the UK for £400 buy it now or make an offer. Downside is you would then need to arrange for a courier to collect them and get them shipped over. I guess there are shippers like DHL who might be able to help advise on possible costs/options.

$450 + shipping for just the side bags, unless you want to wait for a nice day and come get them yourself in Pittsburgh

Also the photo isn't perfect, they are in fact Italian Red

Throwing a curve ball. I have had Givi, OEM and now on SHAD. SHAD by far for everyday use are the best bags out there. Take them off and no big brackets hanging. Going into the house, hotels, getting on and off the bike kicking them etc, no worries about marks on paint. Top box is also cool as it converts in size from a 46l to a 55l.

Yeah if I am going to do aftermarket it would be the givi bags and the quick release mounting bracket! Think I’m just going to go that route and get the V on the side bags painted to match the bike!

I'd go Shad if I could, bags look a little fat, but the bracket isn't nearly as bad looking as Givi racks.....

Yeah but with the quick release brackets, should eliminate that. A few pops and it’s off. A few pops and it’s ready for bags again
