I ordered a complete fairing kit with the tank cover to match the 07’ RWB (I know everyone hates tank covers) but I thought I’d give it a try. I was hoping someone else has tried this and would post some pics for fitment reference and to see how it looks (gaps on the sides or fuel filler?). I’m sure there will be and I have ideas to fix/hide them but I’ve looked and I can’t find many pics of tank covers installed. Any help would be appreciated.

That's a tank cover. Have to install it when it's warm and even the a heatgun or hair dryer helps otherwise the tabs are easy the break.

Oh, I do have a grab handle on the filler ring for my daughter. There is a bit of a gap that it covers. Have a GIVI tanklock bag on the way to replace that.

I had that idea too! The givi tank lock bag adapter to fill the gap. That’s a beautiful bike, is it the 07’ red? Thanks, put my mind at ease a bit. That looks really close to stock. Actually it looks completely stock from the pic since it’s a distance away. I already put a think layer of gorilla glue over the front and rear tabs. I read another thread that that’s where they usually crack from over tightening. Who did you order the tank cover from?

Thanks, it's a complete fairing from Monster fairing, bike was 2008 silver. Not as flexible as Honda but good quality IMO and the color is YUM! Brandywine. I did reinforce the tabs with glass & metal strips though. The paint work is really good.

Hey OldSchool, maybe buy a cosmetically challenged tank to hide under the cover and put the nice one away with the rest of the body work?

    That is an excellent suggestion.

I though about that too but I think I’m going to do one better and since I’m never going back to the Italian Red R157 I think I’m going to get a cosmetically challenged tank like you mentioned and then Sell the entire OEM fairing kit with perfect tank to possibly someone on the forum here. I have plans for that money later on.
