Our hospitals are not equipped to handle a large influx. Several cases were one infected person walks into an ER and exposes 40 or 50 staff, nurses & doctors who must the self quarantine them selves leaving the facility short handed. Lots of healthy people will get and pass it along to friends and family. Numbers will grow exponentially, that person could infect an elderly person with a weak immune system that could prove fatal. Not much we can do but follow the recommendations of health professionals and not politicians who are worried about re-election.

I over 75 but in relatively good health except my high blood pressure, but my ex and best friend has asthma and is 71. She is worried and so am I for her. I would hate to lose her to some idiot who walks around not caring they are infected. Last night someone got on a flight in NY and flew to Florida after being tested positive in NY.
The idea is to spread the virus infection over months
so the medical institutions don't get overwhelmed treating the people who really need it. The virus infections spreads
over the course of months instead of weeks, easing the stress on medical institutions.
Basically what was on my mind :)

Btw, this is to be a humor thread. Can't we just laugh from the virus when we're all sitting in our homes in this pseudo quarantine?

Sorry for getting off original topic, I just disagreed with a post which I thought was in bad taste, but in essence we are not too too far off...ancient system of medicine in which blood and other bodily fluids were regarded as "humours" that had to remain in proper balance to maintain health.

Going for a ride now

I don't think, but then don't know for sure, that just because you have actually been infected with this virus, that you will be admitted to the hospital. You would most likely be told to go home and stay away, or keep people away from you so that you don't spread this to someone else. The hospitals are likely to take those at high risk in, I believe, but they won't be treating the virus. They will be treating the symptoms, only for those at higher risk of being unable to fight the symptoms off themselves. And these are the elderly, the already sick, and those with compromised immune systems already.

Hopefully with the world wide effort being made presently, there will be a vaccine developed to safeguard those of us who have not contracted it yet. Then again, no one seems to know if once you have had this virus and have recovered from it, do you now have immunity from acquiring it again. I think they are still working on that.

Man! This is the funniest stuff I have seen in this humor thread in a long time, don't you think?

I enjoy this thread and the many jokes and satirical comments, especially about politicians. But sometimes we need to thick twice about serious subjects, especially when they have killed over 4500 people.

I suppose. I don't know if there is anyone here who has lost anyone to this yet but it would be awful if there was and we are making light of this. I know my daughter has a compromised immune system and has had so since birth really. Then again, she arbitrarily took herself off a couple meds back in her late teens so she is not doing all that can be done to protect herself either. And she is now (at 33 years of age) planning on a trip to UK with her husband, contrary to our wishes. I just don't know where the fuck she gets her stubborn attitude from. Must be her mother.

But. I will continue to make fun of my own misfortune. I will have owned that and can make fun with it. Not that I EVER run into misfortune.

What do do if you are quarantined for CV?
You can only watch so many movies and rock out so long.

I suggest you re read The Stand by Steven King. :)
