Hello, I just pick up a 2006 VFR non ABS, the main reason I got the bike is the single side swing arm and exposed rear wheel. my VFR is white and I'm in the process of gathering parts to swap wheels for the 8th gen gold wheels. I saw a picture of a 25th anniversary with the 8th gen gold wheels and I knew I had to got those wheels.

I already have a complete rear swing arm (caliper, hub, rotor) and a front end (forks, triple tree, calipers, clutch and master cylinder) from a 2014. I'm still missing the wheels and front rotor... those should turn up soon.

My question is, has anyone done this swap using 8th gen parts on their 6th gen... Where you able to use the rear brake cylinder from the 6th gen to work with the 8th gen rear caliper? Also since the 6th has linked brakes, I'm assuming that by replacing the brake likes from the 6th and using the 8th lines I will be good to go.

I did search the forum and found some threads where others have modified their 6th gen calipers and re routed the brake lines to cancel the link brakes. I'm thinking that my approach is easier since I'm just replacing parts. I'm hoping to find out that others have done it with ease.

Hi.. I hope you will post up photos of your conversion as you go, I may do the same on my 5th gen.

For the rear master cylinder, I would ask an 8th gen owner what is the piston size? If the 6th is the same, you're good to go. but worse case you would have to change the m/C, which is no big deal, since Honda uses the same base castings and mounting points. I did a complete strip out of the linked brake system and its fairly simple to pull off the lines and components to get it all done....
