20200401_231707.jpg Just wanting to confirm that this is the location everyone is measuring chain slack from as directly in between sprockets the chain just hits the plastic gaurd. See picture. I have mine set at 1.25 inches.

The above image is an illustration of how you would check the slack but not an actual measurement.

I am not sure you’re doing that right. Chain slack isn’t a static measurement you take like you are showing. It is a distance measurement. You typically measure from thes lack point (chain at normal rest state), to the no slack point (chain pushed UP). The distance the chain moves is the slack, and should be set as per the manual.

I am just illustrating where you check the slack. I understand that you have to check the actual slack. Thanks for assuming I am stupid.

Honda88, I am sorry if I offended you. I wasn't saying you were stupid. You showed a ruler with zero set at the rubber and then measuring the chain.........I am not sure what that is showing other than the distance of the chain from the rubber to where it "slacks"..........in any case I get it, you pushed UP and it just hit the plastic guard......no worries

I dont think you understand what I'm getting at. I'm wanting to know if this is the location where everyone is measuring chain slack. Because if you go directly in the center, the chain just hits the gaurd before it even moves 1 inch. So I am measuring the tension forward (closer to the front sprocket) directly below the foot peg. The chain does not hit the gaurd where I am measuring in the pic. It stops at 1.25 inches.

Thanks fink, this is what I was wanting to know. It's odd that honda manual says halfway between sprockets but you cant even accomplish that with this model because the odd shaped swingarm...its a frustrating thing.
