Just picked up my 2015 Interceptor Deluxe yesterday!

I have owned a 2003 for over 10 years. It was never “Right”. I will post more about that in another thread.

I slabbed it 200mi to Deland, Fl on my ‘03, perfect day/weather. What I found was probably the most immaculate specimen I could have imagined. 8220mi on the clock, owner was extreme OCD. Bike looked like it was just uncrated.

    Included with the bike was:
    Hugger
    Honda Tank Protector
Honda 12V Accessory Outlet (installed under the rear cowl)
Honda Side Bags, with liners and straps
Honda Quickshifter, in the box (uninstalled and in the bags)
Honda Bar Risers, in the box (uninstalled and in the bags)
    Optimate Battery Tender

I also got the covers in case you remove the grab handles (i assume all bikes come with these covers?) and the cowl. The owners manual and tool kit were missing. They let me take the toolkit off my 2003........i am going to match up the tools and see if there are any differences I need to account for to have a complete kit.

Also included with the bike were some odd items I could use all your help understanding.

First, included with the bike were two brand new turn signals (Left and Right). Brand new, sealed bags. Why would the owner have bought these? Perhaps he was planning some sort of mod and wanted to keep the originals and then modify these new ones he bought? Trying to understand what the reasoning could be:

Second, there is a rubber mat of some sort. Looks like the kind of mat I had under the tank on my 2003, but its much smaller. Anyone know what this mat is? (See attachment)

Third, there are two sets of indicator lenses. These don’t look like anything on the VFR however.......I don’t know why these were with the bike.....why two sets......are they somehow related to the new indicators also included? A mystery to me (see attachment)

First impressions. I really like the updated bike. I love all the new features. Love having Flash to Pass.....the bright dashboard, Gear Indicator. People complain of the cancelling turn signals.......I LOVE THEM! The exhaust is pretty sedate, but I am used to my Two Brothers Carbon on my 2003. I plan to add the Akrapovic. I will also be adding a top box so I have a full set of luggage.

That rubber piece looks like the rubber flap that protects the rear shock from road debris. He probably removed it after he installed the rear hugger.

You're absolutely right. I have the rear hugger too, but I chose the leave the rubber flap in place.

I tried to locate what this part was before posting here. And even now that I know what it is, I still cant find it not he parts diagrams. I have looked at Rear Fender, Rear Shock, Swingarm, Rear Wheel, Rear Cowl....... perhaps its included with the shock and not listed as a separate item?

Post a picture of your new steed. Regarding the toolkit, I believe they, and the underseat manual are not sold with the bike (somebody correct me if I'm wrong). I bought my VFR used with none either, I just purchased the toolkit and manual to compliment my bike.

It was attached to the rear wheel well fender by 3 pop rivets. I suspect it's part of this: 80101-MJM-D10, but the schematic hides the flap.

I bought my 2014 with 2600 miles on it. Came with tool kit & manual. Also had quickshifter and panniers. Had buy rear cover which suppose to come with new bike. Have 30k on it now, mostly twisty back roads, hate going on freeways out here.

I really like both colors. Both are very nice choices. I will always think of Red when I think of VFR........as well as RWB of course. The white accents well with black and red......its a good choice. I hope I can keep it clean, I love the way the pearl looks when the light hits it.

When I had my 1987, I installed front turn signals on the rear of the bike so I would have running lights there (more visibility). I'm wondering if those turn signals were purchased for the same idea? As far as the clear lenses, I'm thinking that maybe the intention was to swap out the turn signal lenses in the mirrors - I'm nowhere near my bike but I think mine are amber inside...

This is really weird I have seen a post almost the same before on another site when they purchased a bike. the wires are the innards for the turn signals and may show a white marker light in the lens, opposed to the use orange light. The rubber is from the rear shock cover which is supposed to be removed when the hugger is put on.
