Hey y'all. I will be 54 in June. At the end of June I finish my residency in Family medicine, and will be a board certified family doc. I am awaiting the completion of my 1990 RC36, frame #0048, that I bought April 19, 1990. It is undergoing a complete resto-mod at SebSpeed Customs in New York state. GSXR600 front end, new bearings and bushings, Left exit Two Brothers, re upholstered Corbin, complete new body fiberglass in the stock style from and Italian place, new charging system from Roadstercycle, and a YSS rear shock ( weak link, but correctly sprung for me - maybe one day I can get a Jamie Daugherty special fully adjustable rear!!).
Starting my 3rd (?) career, and riding a Ninja 500 that we got ostensibly for my wife to have a bike again. She wants one of the new 400s or a CBR500...But looking forward to riding even more in the coming years. Med school and residency took a large chunk of life, now Im getting it back.

And for the person that said getting old starts when you can't get your leg over the bike- hip replacement! Worked for me!

Finishing your residency@ 54?!! God bless you for being an achiever! Best of luck to you.

I've seen some of Sebspeed's work, your going to love it. Maybe one day we'll meet, I'm in E Pa but ride up thru NY & VT when I can. Best.

Been riding motorcycles for 49 years, in order; enduro, UJM street, desert, scooter, cruiser, touring, dual sport, motocross and adventure. Decided to try a sportbike for the first time in my life while my body is still able to bend. Picked up a 5th Gen recently, just returned from a 3 day 1,300 mile ride and while still adjusting to the handling and ergos I'm really enjoying it. Not as cramped as I thought it would be and the 225-250 mile fuel range surprised me. Love the V4 spooling up.

Not so much an achiever...a believer. Finally getting to do something I like at least as much as riding. And get paid for it! Seb is a genius! And I hope we get to meet up! I have been head down/in school(residency is a lot like school...) since 2005. It's getting close to time to ride. A LOT! Looking forward to riding the dragon, and going up 79 through PA for fun this time (last time was in the 90s...and grandpa was dying. Sadness). 77 through the VA, WVA mountains. So much to see!!

    Hey
so jealous! I’m 56. The only designated sport bike I’ve owed was my 85 Intercepter. The rest were vfr like, we’ll i did ride a 73 SL125 when I was 16. I’ve always loved the sport bikes but I’m 6’5” and as they got smaller and more focused I just couldn’t see doing the distances I do now and again. If I could afford more than one I would likely go for a CBR.

Love the look of the SP, but why do they make them so small for my 6'2" frame. Sure it's a great sport ride, but you can't beat the vfr for distance riding.
