    Hey all,

Having owned a 2000 VFR in the past and always being a fan, I came across a very mint 1990, Red VFR750 with 1675 miles. It was crated for a lot for it's life and the current owner (2nd owner who knew the original owner) recently spent about 2K on it getting it serviced, carbs rebuilt. Supposed to run like new and they want 6500 for it. If it's as clean as it says that may be a fair price. What are your thoughts on things to look for, known issues, price etc. Are these truly reliable bikes at 30 years old, hehe?

    Thanks!

Yes they are that reliable except for possible charging system issues. Bring a volt meter.

Price is too steep imo. On those bikes there is no difference between 1675 miles and 16,750. They are trying to make their money back for it being stored improperly on top of what it's worth. Which is around $2000 cheaper than the asking price.

But if somebody has the cash and is looking for a perfect 1990, they might get it.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to have a nice 90-97 VFR, but not at that price.

Nice find, but I echo Captain 80's comments... a bit steep for even a great find. As soon as you put miles on it, it's likely worth 1/2=2/3 that.... sit on it and see whazzup a month from now when they can't sell it (nobody's likely to have a lot of spare play money).

I paid $1700 for my 93. I put more money into it then I wanted (as usual). But I'm still half that price and i did alot. These bikes were made to ride. Every one loves a pristine show bike but in reality you can't ride and enjoy it. If cash is no problem go for the best bike you can buy. $6500 should buy you two or three vfr's. Too much money for a 30 year old bike.
