I got on my bike at the store, with the kickstand still down, and it felt like something slipped and the bike tilted further toward the left side. I didn't really think too much of it at the time because the ground was wet and I was on a slight hill. When I got home is when I noticed something was wrong. The picture doesn't do the justice of how far this poor thing is leaning against the kickstand. I've looked around and can't really figure out what's changed. If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful.

Hard to tell if you are missing the one bolt that usually goes missing. The front one in the pic[IMG]

Yep, looks like the kickstand is going forward more than it should, your one pic showed the foot not flat to the ground.

You guys are awesome, thank you!!
It felt like that hole was supposed to have a bolt in it (strange that is not uncommon, unless maybe it just gets sheered?) but in my service manual I couldn't find the kickstand to confirm. I really appreciate the quick help everyone.

Yes. This has been reported by several here and the 6th gen at least, is infamous for this. I have checked mine many times over the years I have owned it, and mine has never been loose but so many have found out, sometimes the hard way, that these bolts tend to disappear.

Kuddos to rhoderage for not only posting the problem, but also a link to replace what is lost. I wonder it the Honda Factory had someone on the line over a period of time who screwed up. Maybe no lock washer or something.

Kudos indeed. The part has been ordered now.
It looked wrong to me for the kickstand's mounting piece to be putting pressure on the shift levers rod sheath, or spool or whatever you want to call it. It felt like that would eventually cause issues to the clutch plates (really not that familiar with automotive construction, but still seemed unnecessary sheer pressure to that component).

    The infamous Harley bolt.
I don't know why else it would seem prone to falling out. :Yo:
