I have a 97 with the factory muffler and want to put a nicer sounding muffler on it,

I'm thinking of a 9 in Delkevic high mount unit. They seem reasonably priced.
I'm not much of a home mechanic although can do a few basics. But would the above be easy to install? It seems like it is and I guess Youtube could always help me but can anyone offer any advice?

    Cheers from NZ!

I put one on my 94 with basically no issues. The strap that holds the pipe near the collector was a bit of a pain but it wasn't that bad.

Message me and I can send a clip of the sound. I think for the price, you can't beat it.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

I ran a Delkevic on my 5th gen, it was hard to fault, held up well for 30,000km that I had the bike, sounded good, looked nice, fitted easily. IMG_1012.JPG

Sure is. I live in Howick, and quite enjoy the Kaiaua loop.

20190512_111544.jpg On a scale of 1 to 10 it's a 2. Not hard to install. We're talking 3 bolts to take the Oem muffler off. The new high mount muffler requires a bracket bolted to the subframe and a little plastic trimming. You need to take the right side tail cowl off to install. And then 3 bolts to install. The hard part is the lengthy time adjusting to get just right. Then tighten everything down. Its fiddly around the passenger peg but I removed mine for looks. BTW it stays cool even after a long hot ride. Sounds great and cost little. Do it.

Is yours the 18” long model? Can’t decide between the 14 vs 18” long model.

Seeing how far out it sticks, I’d go with the 14.
