Just bought a 1990 with 31700 kms, as a birthday gift for my wife. It is the cleanest 1990 model year motorcycle that I have seen since 1990.... but it needs tires. I already have a Pilot Road 4 front tire (120/70), but I note that the only Pilot Road 4 in the stock 170/60 size is designated a “GT” or a “Trail” has anyone run a Pilot Road 4 “GT” on their Gen 3 VFR or should I just go with a 180/55 in the standard Pilot Road 4?[/ATTACH] 855C3CC2-441D-4847-A317-7C712D74D1F6.jpeg BE9A263A-ADD4-4841-AF4A-5DE14F910521.jpeg

next to the rvf ?

unless the wife is a very experienced rider, that gen 3 is too much bike and way too clean to learn on.

My wife has been riding more than 40 years. She currently has 2 GPZ 550’s, a Ducati 900SS and a 2002 VTEC VFR 800. She has known the previous owner of the Gen 3 for more the 25 years. She has been bugging him for at least 24 years to sell it to her.....

get a nice 180 tire for the bike, I have been running these size tires since I have owned my "first wife" back in 95. Nice score, and nice wife too - yep forgot something, so editing, bike has a 5.5 inch rear wheel which is consistent with the crop of 600 cc selections of rubber. I had a situation a while back when I was buying a few odd tires here and there where the tire rubbed the swing arm, I ended up using a wood plane and ended up with a small ball of rubber. I have not had that situation for 20 years though.
