Looking to swap out the ol' shoes. Currently I have Michelin Pilot Road 4 GTs. But I'm considering two others - Metzeler Roadtec 01 and the Pirelli Angel GT II. I'm not much of a heavy rain rider, I'm not overly aggressive in cornering and most of my riding is either to and from work, 11 miles each way either on the highway or backroads. The Michelins were on the bike when I got it last year and the rear is quite flattened and getting more worn down. It's time. What are you all using or have experiences with?

I have Michelin Road 5's on my 5th gen. Dual compound so don't wear like some tires. Harder in the center and softer on the edges. Not as sticky as the Dunlops I'd been using since 1998. Got tired of buying tires every year so decided to try the Michelins. Happy with their wear characteristics but miss the stickiness of the Q series Dunlops. Compromises.....

I have always stuck with the Michelin PR tires ever since I dumped Dunflops. Simply did not like the OEM or the upgraded I replaced those with. But a friened of mine always ran Mezlers and he likes them. I just put a set of Michelins on mine and seeing as I don't commute anymore, I expect them to last several years for me now. But when they are done with, I might try something else. But so for, the Michelins have served me very well since around 2008 or so. I was going through a set a year back then. I have lost track of how many sets now.

Angels. Micheliin tires have gotten weird. The old PR2 is the only one I would ride but they don't last as long as dual compound tires.
