    Hi, I have a VFR750F RC36-II 1995, imported from California earlier,
and I want to replace the instrument unit from miles to kph,
because the miles unit is damaged and then I want kph which is common here in Norway.
I guess I have to change the speed sensor too , which is mounted at the front sprocket. ?
The sensor has at least different part numbers in the USA and Europe.
    (37700-MZ7-601 or 602 Usa // 37700-MZ7-013 Europe )

Ya ...160 km/h looks a lot faster than 100 mph!! LOL.
    Cheers from California!!
Sorry I don't know the answer to your question.

My guess is that speed sensor is a Hall sensor and maybe doesn't need to be changed. You can try a new speedometer without changing it to see if it works. I don't believe it will cause any damage to the new unit.

I would say the gearing is different in the unit that runs off the sprocket unless they did the calculations in the speedo unit. You could always just swap it out and if it is off then go ahead and get the drive unit.

    Hi, thanks for your messages.
I think i just need to test and compare with one of the other Hondas, speed and odo.
I'm the owner of 3 other American Honda with miles view, so it's not a big issue for me.
But when I am fitting a kph speedometer, it is good to know if this will count correctly when I keep the "miles sensor".
It is also possible to mount the Speedo Healer.
    Happy weekend
