Alright, I don't want to start something here like an oil discussion but it's time to replace the pads on my '08. I like the red EBC on my dirt bikes, and tried many different compounds before I settled on those because of the proper balance of aggressive grip and fair wear without destroying the rotor before the next change. This is the first set I have had to put on, they maybe OEM, not sure. Bike now has 20K on it, I have put 12K on it.

What I would like to hear is what you are using and what you like or dislike about them. Maybe this will cut down on the number of compounds I will have to try before finding something I like. Hopefully this will be helpful to others to.

I don't need rotors yet but if someone has a great combo that just works, post it up. I am not opposed to spending money to stop better, go into the next corner without wondering if I have overheated the brakes yet.

    Thanks Sam

I usually stick with Honda OE they are HH rated.

Have used ebc sintered Hh in the past on other bikes

Thanks, I searched late last night and didn't find many discussions about different pad brands and compounds but after posting this I found 4 threads right off. Perhaps my brain had already shut down for the night and left the screen on. :Noidea:
I see several riders using HH pads and one using SBS Sinter. I find it strange no one is using Galfer. Lots of options out there just trying to narrow down so I don't have 5 sets of pads in the garage that are partially used, and I have no plans to ever put them on the bike again. But I know the chances of finding the perfect fit the first time is usually not possible.

Found what I think I needed. Ordered the EBC HH. I will get the lines from Galfer.

    Thanks

I also use the EBC HH pads with my Galfer lines. Good choice. :)

I ran Galfer sintered in my RC26. Loved the performance but they made a MESS! (white wheels) I put some EBC HH in that bike and moved the Galfers over to the 1000R that has matte black wheels where the brake dust is more manageable. Very noticeable difference in dust with similar good performance.

it's important to clean the discs (spray, sandpaper, scotchbrite) really well when changing pad brands.
