Hey all! I've got a 6th gen VFR and I'm approaching 40,000 miles. I'm starting to notice a little lurching, and sometimes sporadic behavior from my clutch so I've decided I'm going to replace it. I'm quite mechanically inclined and I can learn just about any job from youtube, plus I have a friend who's been riding for longer than I've been alive that's going to help me. Either way, my question for y'all is: What is the difference between these two clutch replacement kits? Barnett Regular Barnett Carbon Fiber Obviously one is carbon fiber, and one is not, but how will that affect how the clutch works? I would prefer to stay as close to stock as possible, but carbon fiber sounds like an upgrade from stock and it's only an extra ~10 dollars. Will the carbon fiber clutch be more of a "performance" clutch? Because if that's the case I will purchase the regular, I'd like to have fine control over my clutch, not have it be an on/off switch. Thanks everyone! -cadaverco
you may have developed grooves on the fingers of your clutch basket that are responsible for jerky action and don't need plate replacement, but stick with OEM if you do need new. a file can be used to smooth the grooves and restore clutch action.
I had a new Barnett carbon and it chattered a bit when cold. Switched to Barnett standard and it's great.
