Horribly sad and neglected motorcycle seeking someone who cares.
Previous Owner is a former son-in-law, who asked me to store this ride for him "for a while" when he and his wife moved about 300 miles away for his wife to attended school. That was in 2016. After 2 years of badgering him to come get it, he finally just sent me the title - which I just put in my name this morning.
**** CLEAR TITLE - In my name **** No Title Skipping. I didn't check the odometer before I went to the Title Agency and PO didn't fill out out mileage. Title Agency said they'd use the last mileage: 28,102. But I just went outside and looked - the odo reads 27,011. I cannot explain the discrepancy - I don't know if PO changed the cluster.
I'm not going to lie - this thing is in sad shape. 5 years ago, it took us most of an evening to get it running, in order to get it from where he lived to my house. Its license plates were last registered in 2011. So, other than about a 2 or 3 mile trip from his former residence to mine, it hasn't been seriously ridden for 10 years. It's been sitting outside in my back yard since 2018, under a cover that's about to fall apart from weathering. Here is everything I know that is wrong:
Battery - Dead.
Fuel - what's in there is from 2016.
Tires - will not hold air for long. Dry rotted.
Body - a lot of panels have non-OEM fasteners and damaged fastening points.
Tank and Fenders - are all good. No Dents but paint is marginal (chips, etc).
Clutch is inoperative - we rebuilt the Clutch Master Cylinder to get it here but, it acts like it's failed again (E-Bay Parts used to rebuild).
In 2016, once we got it started, it seemed fine. For the first year I had it, I rode it around the neighborhood for him to keep fluids circulating but, was too afraid to ride it much with tags that expired in Jan 2011 (and no motorcycle endorsement at the the time). I finally just quit trying to get him to re-tag it just let it sit. It got moved outside in 2018 after I got a second bike and didn't have room to keep it in the garage.
Whats good?
Most of the body - Tank and Fenders are Dent-Free
Engine and Transmission (as of 2016)
Rims
Miscellaneous parts - Clutch/Brake handles, mirrors, seat, lights, wiring harness.
If you're not looking to restore this one but have another that needs parts, this could be it.
Asking Price is not totally firm but, this is a fairly rare bike, despite its condition. Extreme lowball offers will be ignored.
Cash Only - No PayPal/Venmo/Cryptocurrency.
You'll have to bring a way to transport it - this is not drive-able! I cannot deliver.
