If it's not just the adjustment lever on top of the shock (as in penetrating oil doesn't help), then you're likely hosed. Those shocks are ticking time bombs, and you can't access the damping circuits for service/cleaning. Every single one of my stock 1000 shocks failed in some way. No damping (pogo stick). Locked in a compressed state. Won't compress. Adjustment frozen.

oh thats not good news, a Hagon shock is nearly 50% of the value of the bike, they dont sell for much

ok so a little careful squirting of GT85, and some gentle levering about to see if it will free up, the shock appears to be working and I have another one if I need it on the parts bike,

but it looks a royal pain to remove,

I dont even know if its got any air in it, as I dont have a hand pump to re pressurise it, I have never checked

I know money doesn't grow on trees, but suspension is more than just the value of the bike. Suspension is always the best money spent on a motorcycle. The stock shocks are great... door stops.

I don’t disagree with you at all, but it’s only insured for 1000 miles a year, and I ride like a hamstrung donkey,

I really would not get the full benefit of a expensive shocker,
But I would like one, and it comes well down the toy pecking list

Have the other toys in front first

Managed to acquire another tank, two damaged indicator mounts for the fairing, a undamaged fuse box lid and a nice pair of genuine chrome mirrors

Hopefully the tank is in better physical condition than mine, and it’s not very rusty as far as I can see, but it will need painting, might see if I can do another nice rattle can job

Someone wanted to know how to change the fuel cap barrel lock

You need to carefully remove the black or chrome skin off the whole cap, it can be done
Once off the barrel comes out the top and you can then change the tumblers so you can have the same key for all the locks

More plastic welding, got a pair of indicator mounts for the front they have inserts that go in the fairing

They had no welded in threads they were all snapped of, the right hand one had a hole in it where the nutter with a big wrench ripped the mount right off

Well today was a complete disaster , fuel pump packed up on the m25 or it might be the relay
Tried jumping the relay and it just kept blowing the main fuse

I was stuck on the thin strip between two 70 mph slip ramps, dam scary,

Highways agency put a 30 mph limit on the slip ramp, absolutely no one took any notice of the speed limit

Eventually green flag rocked up and got me home, now I have to figure out if it’s the pump that blew the relay, as when I went to unplug the relay I burnt my fingers on it, it was that hot

Have a spare of both so tomorrow will be an investigation

No fun stuck on a strip of tarmac about 10 feet wide with just cones separating the two slips, 40 ton artics passing both sides of me at 50mph,

I have had time to refresh my underwear now

I came down the M11 from Harlow, used the slip ramp to go west on the M25, half way round the slip the bike cut out,

Just the other side of the cones is the slip from the west bound M25 to M11 north

This is because I live right by junction 26 on the M25, and I was heading home from Harlow so thought I would give it a blast on the motorway, wish I hadn’t bothered now

Well it’s been two weeks since the breakdown, I have not had a chance to even open the garage door, three things have swallowed my time, one customer hit by ransomware the crooks wanting $4.1m to give them the release key, and completely screwing my back

And not forgetting the arrival of my new Grandson “jack”

So this week I hope to sort out why the fuel pump just blows the main fuse all the time, luckily I have a spare

Well I got some time today

Changed the fuel pump for the one off my FF parts bike

It works but leaks like a bitch, so that’s bin food, and I took the one that blew fuses apart and the points space was full of fuel too

So 2 pumps both dead, now what to do about is the next question

    Open to suggestions

Can you use the bits from the one that works & the casing from the one that doesn't?

They both work, both leak, points had stuck in the original

Think I might buy a Facet 4 psi solid state been looking at them, about £40

Thanks stray, but they are both leaking, the one off the FF, leaks so much it puts puddles on the floor

The original leaks through the push rod and fills the points up with fuel, not good considering how much they spark

I will have a ebay browse
